CHAPTER 43

Sonbi and Rena were already waiting at Hemi's boutique for their arrival.

Eunmi was quite surprise to see Rena for it was only Tuesday and Baekhyun is nowhere in sight. She was his boyfriend's executive secretary and is damn good at it! Always committed and profound with work that her boss / boyfriend's hanky pankies never happen when they are at the office earning her a name of 'ruthless secretary'.

Sonbi and Hemi were actually calling her 'workaholic chick #2' next to her.

"Hi, Rena! Fancy seeing you here." Eunmi said as they hugged and kissed each other's cheeks.

"I asked a leave from Baekhyun and he agreed." giving her a sweet smile. "Because you've got loads of things to tell me, girl!"

"You heard it, huh?" Eunmi said as she did the same to Sonbi.

"You know my boyfriend, he's always the bearer of gossips around the office, rather than myself." she heartily laughed.

Rena became their close friend during the latter part of their university days sharing common interests with them. Once in a while, they will all meet up to catch up, but today was unexpected. Since everything was hectic during Hemi's wedding, they weren't able to talk to each other much.

The four chatted about the latest happenings in their lives especially Eunmi's whilst they drank tea served by Hemi's assistant. Rena have already been told by Baekhyun about her pregnancy so she only told her bits and pieces of the true scenario.

It took them more than an hour just to catch up before Eunmi stood up and announced that she was leaving to visit Kyungsoo's dad. Hemi actually persuaded her to go straight to her boutique after they've been at the orphanage saying she wants to give her a surprise present first.

Her bestfriend promised to accompany her at the hospital once she got her gift. Curiosity got the best of her so she agreed.

Eunmi was starting to think everybody is acting differently today and seems to give her a surprise, starting with Kyungsoo, followed by Rena and now Hemi. Sonbi usually tells them in advance about her caterings or business ventures. Jongin should be sticking with his wife wherever she goes because they are still on honeymoon period, instead of going to help his bestfriend with the business. Hemi should be Jongin's priority at the moment, Eunmi thought.

It's like lots of things have changed since Kyungsoo proposed to her, though in reality it's all part of the plan she knew nothing about.

"Ladies, I really need to get going. Hemi, are you coming? You can show-" she was interrupted by Hemi.

"You're already here, Eunmi. Ok let me show it now." she said as she stood up as well. Sonbi and Rena followed suit.

"As I was saying, you ca-" again, Hemi cut her then pulled her by the wrist to her office with Sonbi and Rena softly pushing her forward.

"You will like it, Eunmi-ah!" squealed Sonbi.

"Haist!"

They went straight to Hemi's vault as she took out one of her sketch pad. Eunmi has already seen that sketch pad before. It was where Hemi drew some of her wedding dress collections including Sonbi's and herself. Her bestfriend flipped it to a particular page then showed it to everybody.

"Ta-da!!!" Hemi said whilst holding a design of a wedding dress with Eunmi's name on it.

Eunmi was speechless upon seeing the drawing. It was exquisite yet very simple, much to her liking. Sonbi and Rena were also admiring Hemi's lovely drawing.

"Do you like it?" asked her bestfriend.

"Oh, I love it! This is very pretty, Hemi-ah! Is this going to be my wedding dress?"

"Yup! Actually, I have already made it. Come on! Let's see the finished product."

The four ladies went directly to the storage room inside Hemi's spacious office, where she keeps her next collection and the ordered dresses she designed for celebrities.

No words came out of Eunmi's mouth as Hemi presents her wedding dress. It was so delicately aesthetic!

Sonbi exclaimed, "This is going to be perfect on your wedding, Eunmi-ah!"

"Now, I am jealous." Rena said whilst touching the material. "Will I expect you to make one for me too?"

"Of course, Rena." Hemi promised.

Hemi proudly placed the wedding dress back into the rack then pulled another rack of gowns.

"But tonight, ladies, these are what we will wear!" Hemi announced.

Eunmi's bestfriends went gaga upon seing the cocktail dresses Hemi was giving them one by one. She was also handed a rust coloured satin halter neck maxi dress.

Sonbi was looking at the mirror whilst holding a light pink chiffon drape midi dress whilst Rena was admiring a black laced rutched milkmade midi dress. Hemi chose a pale yellow body hugging bandage midi dress with diamante buckle on the waist.

As much as Eunmi wanted to try the dress, she really needs to leave and visit Kyungsoo's dad. It seems like her bestfriends are not paying attention to her.

"What are you waiting for, Eunmi-ah, try the dress now." chided Rena.

"But I really need to-"

"Eunmi, I rarely go with you girls when you invite me out. Now that I am available today, you will just ignore me? Are you trying to say that I am not worthy enough for you to spend time with?" Rena was steely eyed whilst looking at Eunmi.

Though they are good friends, she knew Rena is quite scary, remembering their university days. She cannot quite comprehend how did she end up dating Baekhyun and they are together for almost 4 years now. Baekhyun is completely the opposite of Rena.

Oh well, as they say poles apart attract each other.

"It's not that Rena, I promised myself I am going to visit Kyungsoo's dad at the hospital." Eunmi said, defending herself.

Sonbi and Hemi came closer to her and held her hands.

"Come on, Eunmi-ah, please let us try this dresses and unwind tonight. We rarely get this chance." Sonbi pleaded.

"Promise you will see your father-in-law soon." said Hemi with puppy eyes looking at her.

Eunmi sighed and nodded.

"Ok, you all win! But we need to get home early, I need to speak with Kyungsoo tonight."

"Alright!!!" Rena hugged her.
