637: INT. NEVERLAND RANCH (LIVING ROOM) DAY FADE IN:

One month later, February 12th, 1995.

RACHAEL: (phone rings) (answers it) Hello?

PRINCE: (on the phone) Rach, it's me.

RACHAEL: Oh, hey Prince, what's up?

PRINCE: (on the phone) Listen, I have an idea of what you can get Michael for Valentines Day. Why don't you come into the studio and make him a special mix-tape?

RACHAEL: Wait a minute, is this some stupid plan you have to get me back in the studio?

PRINCE: (on the phone) Rachie, Rachie, would I do that to you?

RACHAEL: Yes, yes you would.

PRINCE: (on the phone) Rach, I'm serious, Michael would give anything to hear you do an album again, I promise you this isn't a trick.

RACHAEL: (sighs) Prince, it sounds like a nice idea but I don't know if I'm really up for it.

PRINCE: (on the phone) Uh-uh you ain't getting outta this, you're singing. Now get your tiny ass over here.

RACHAEL: (chuckles) You know Prince, that's the one thing I don't miss since I've taken a break from recording, your bossiness. See you in a bit. (hangs up)

638: INT. PAISLEY PARK (STUDIO) DAY

Rachael steps back into the studio for the first time in two years.

RACHAEL: (comes in) Hi.

PRINCE: Hey Rach. (kisses her cheek)

RACHAEL: I brought the kids, I hope you don't mind. Daddy was at the studio so they wanted to come with Mommy.

PRINCE: I don't mind at all, I love these little rugrats. (looks at Paris) Man, Paris looks more and more like you every day.

RACHAEL: (chuckles) She does! But she does have quite a bit of her Daddy in her.

PRINCE: That's sweet. Ok kids, you go sit over there while your Mama records some songs. (takes them and puts them on the couch)

RACHAEL: (gets in the booth)

PRINCE: (reads the lyrics she's just given him) Damn Rach, this is some deep shi- (remembers there are kids in the room) Stuff. (plays the track)

RACHAEL: (starts singing)
Talkin' to myself and feelin' old
Sometimes I'd like to quit, nothin' ever seems to fit
Hangin' around, nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
What I've got they used to call the blues
Nothin' is really wrong, feelin' like I don't belong
Walkin' around, some kind of lonely clown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
Funny, but it seems I always wind up here with you
Nice to know somebody loves me
Funny, but it seems that it's the only thing to do
Run and find the one who loves me
(The one who loves me)
What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
(Talk it out)
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around
(Hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
Funny but it seems that it's the only thing to do
(Only thing to do)
Run and find the one who loves me
(Ooo)
What I feel has come and gone before
No need to talk it out
(Talk it out)
We know what it's all about
Hangin' around
(Hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down
Hangin' around
(Hangin' around)
Nothin' to do but frown
Rainy days and Mondays always get...
Me down
