CHAPTER FORTY THREE

“TOPshiii. They’re looking for you” saad ni Jessy habang nakatingin siya sa kamay ni TOP na nasa braso ko. Hinawi ko agad ang kamay ni TOP sakin.

“Just go inside, Jessy. I’ll be back later” saad ni TOP na mukhang nagtitimpi lang.

Hindi sumunod si Jessy sa halip ay lumapit pa siya samin. Nakita ko ang pagkunot ng noo niya.

“Why not now? Why are you two doing here by the way?” napaangat ang tingin niya sakin. I saw how she looks at me with disbelief in her eyes.

“Just go, Jessy” inis na sabi ni TOP.

“And why? Tell me, TOP. what are you two doing here?” naniningkit na ang singkit nyang mga mata na nakatingin kay TOP.

Gusto ko ng umalis doon dahil ayokong maging dahilan ng pag-aaway nila.

Tatalikod na sana ako ng marinig ko ang tinig ni TOP.

“I’ll drive you home” saad niya sakin.

Nakita ko ang pag-angat ng kilay ni Jessy. “TOP, they need you inside” saad ni Jessy.

“I’m okay, TOP. I can go home alone” saad ko pero bago ako tumalikod na ay hinawakan niya ang braso ko.

“Jessy, please. I need to drive her home” saad niya kay Jessy.

“No. we’re going inside” narinig kong sabi ni Jessy at saka niya hinawakan sa braso si TOP.

Naramdaman ko ang pagsinghap ni Jessy ng malakas na bumitaw si TOP sa hawak ni Jessy. Nakita ko na muntikan pa syang ma-out of balance.

“Damn it, Jes.” Ramdam ko na galit na si TOP ng sabihin yon.

“What? You are now choosing that woman over me? TOP, I’m your wife” halos pasigaw na sabi ni Jessy. Nakita ko kung paano niya ako tignan ng masama. Napayuko ako. This confrontation won’t do good for us. Kelangan ko ng umalis.

“Yes, you’re my wife, Jes but only in papers. You know from the start that I don’t love you”

Nakita ko kung paano nasaktan si Jessy sa sinabi ni TOP. Nanlalabo ang mga mata niya.

“I hate you” saad ni Jessy sabay sampal kay TOP. “For 3 years, TOP. we’ve been together for 3 years. We’re happy. I am already contented on what you can give to me coz I’m hoping that one day you can learn to love me. But I was wrong. I wish in the first place I didn’t allow you to go back here because I know you’ll see her” saad niya saka tumingin sakin.

Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya. Kilala niya ako? Alam niya ang relasyon namin ni TOP?

“I did everything for you to make you love me but until now I guess I never succeed and will never be.” Saad ng umiiyak na si Jessy. She’s crying in front of us.

“Jessy, you already know that I love her more than you, just please. Set me free. I want to be with her” saad ni TOP. Nakita ko kung paano siya lumuhod sa harapan ni Jessy.

I was shocked when he did that. “Please, Jessy. Sign the divorce papers. Set me free. I want to be with her.” Nakita kong paano yumugyog ang balikat ni TOP habang nakayuko at nakaluhod sa harapan ni Jessy.

Jessy was shock. Nakahawak ang isang kamay niya sa kanyang labi. At ako ay nakatayo at tinitignan sila.

“No! I won’t! I am your wife. You should love me not her. You will give up everything just for her? I already see your sacrifices for your father’s company for you career and now you’re giving it up just for her? I will never ever sign those damn papers, TOP. You are mine.” Saad ni Jessy at saka umalis na roon.
