"When are you getting married?"
"When are you getting married?"
"When are you getting married?"
It was a question you despised to the core. Okay, being single isn't a burden and you'd wish they would somehow understand that.
The only burden is when every time you meet someone new they keep on asking that same thing.
It was actually a pretty ironic question for someone who sells wedding rings for a living.
"When are you getting married?" Your grandmother asks when you were seated with her in the corner.
You narrowed your eyes towards her, "I told you I don't plan on getting married anytime soon," You said through gritted teeth, "I'm not even in a relationship,"
"Excuse me,"
A woman tapped your shoulder, making you spin around your heel to face her smile. But you had a horrible day and didn't even feel the need to reciprocate it.
"What? Are you gonna ask when I'm getting married to?" You glared at her, making the woman tilt her head.
"No.." She denied, "I was going to ask for the bathroom,"
"O-oh," You stuttered, your face falling into an apologetic expression, "It's in the back..my apologies,"
~~
You sat by a canteen where you were peacefully eating a sandwich, watching as people payed no attention less than you were to them. Greatfully.
A woman slips beside you with a radiating smile, "You're a very beautiful lady," She compliments, making you smile sheepishly.
"Really? Thank you,"
"Are you married? When are you getting married?" She asks, making your face fall into an annoyed expression.
"I'm not even in a relationship,"
"Well what do you look for in a man?"
You thought clearly, "Maybe a person who's trustworthy. Someone with a great personality," You sighed dreamily, though, the woman seemed to be checking her bag, "I need someone who could respect my-"
"Excuse me, I need to answer this call," The woman interrupts, leaving immediately with he rphone by her ear.
"Every time," You whisper, biting into your snack furiously.

You nodded slowly as you listened to your partner in business ramble about how sweet her lover was.
"So, she bought me this.." The rest of her sentences crumpled like a piece of paper in your mind. It wasn't like you hated her its just that you've had a bad day.
Your eyes discreetly wondered by the door hoping someone could enter. Thankfully, someone did. A raven-haired man slowly made the bell ring once he opened the door.
"Well, this was a nice talk and all but I should serve our customer," You smiled to your co-worker, "You could go and- uh- call your girlfriend,"
You strutted joyfully behind the counter and stood in front of them man, taking in his features. Man, he was gorgeous.
"Reservation for the diamond ring? I put my last name in it, Friggason? Loki Friggason," He inquires, you could see the anxiousness in his face.
"We got it prepped up, sir. Don't you worry about a thing," You spoke while leaning down to get the ring, "She must be one lucky gal,"
You pulled out a small box, "She's the love of my life," Loki smiled, it brought a smile to your face too.
But inside you might just be burning with jealousy. Not of his girlfriend, of course, but the couple. Almost every man that came here rambled about their special someone. It was practically a required rule to ask them and listen to their speeches.
"We've been dating for several years," Loki muttered, "I'm planning to propose to her this afternoon. I have this restaurant reservation,"
Though you've heard similar plans, it was adorable to see the excitement on each of their faces. Honestly, it was the only hope you have left from getting a relationship.
"What do you think?" He finishes with a deep sigh, making you look at him awkwardly. Gosh, you weren't listening. It wasn't the first time.
"I..think it's great," You trailed, sliding the box in front of him gently, "I'm sure she would say yes,"
"I hope,"

Once the sun falls, being replaced by the beautiful moon. You left your store, greeting the guard on your way out.
Though, you stopped dead in your tracks when you saw a car park by. The familiar raven-haired man-- Loki-- stepped out, "So sorry, Sir. But we're closed we-"
"She said no," He interrupts, making your jaw go slack. Your mouth could catch moths. You certainly didn't expect that.
"...I'm so sorry," You took some steps in front of him, "I can give you a refund for the ring? If you'd like," You pat his shoulder, "It's the least I could do I- oh, Mister-"
You watch as he kneeled down in glum, bringing you with him as you soothe him down, "She said she was secretly meeting another man. She planned to break it off but..she could never find the time,"
You nodded slowly as you listened to his story, crouched down to meet his gaze. You wipe the tears off his face, "Is there anything I can do?"
"I'm sorry. I must be a burden," He stood up, bringing you with him as you stood straight too, "I should go. I'll keep the ring," He looked at the box sadly, "I'm sorry..again. I didn't know who to go to,"
"Well," You took a sharp breathe, "If you need any more comfort you can stop by the store any time," You smiled.
"Thank you, really,"
"It's no problem. Have a safe night, Loki,"
