"And if somebody bothers you. Just..you know, shoot em',"

Loki finalizes as the van stops by the disturbing forest. It leads to a base you needed to discover.

Your team was consisted of You, a mermaid. Loki, a God. And Natasha, a hot assasin. What could go wrong?

Well, let's start off with your headache.

"Shoot em'?"

You raised a brow, cocking your gun. Watching as he pushed the door beside you. Revealing the stubby trees and a tiny path made of rocks.

"Politely,"

The three of you left the van supervised by an agent, letting Natasha lead the way. If only you had brought several cups of water, maybe if you did, this headache you've been stifling would've not been so severe.

Too late to back out now.

Once you reached the inside of this haunting base. It was giving you chills that would run up your spine for days. Not to mention that foul smell. Like sewers and acid.

"This must be the worst place I've raided,"

Natasha covered her nose right after speaking, her gun grasped tightly in her un-occupied hand. It was true, this definitely was the worst.

Walking through the corriders, there were three split paths. It was obvious what your choice would be in this predicament.

"Y/n, go middle. Loki, go right. I'll go left,"

Natasha said, pointing her hand in each hallway. You squint your eyes to see clearly, it still wasn't clear. It was darker than any you've been in.

"With these thin walls, we could notify each other within a snap," Natasha spoke once again, "But, just in case. Keep your communicators open,"

"Will do, boss," You salute, walking over to the middle with your flashlight the only source of brightness that could help you through.

You didn't know if you either stepped on a trap or some decapitated organ. You could only go further.

This place was weird.

Obviously.

It wasn't hard too see with all their mutated subjects. Those photgraphs would forever haunt you.

"Shit," You heard from your communicator. Though, you didn't need it. You could hear Loki's voice within an echo, "I just pressed a random red button,"

"I don't think it means anything. Don't overthink it," Natasha's words bounced off the walls. You kept walking.

"It has a skull design on top,"

"Well, nothings happening yet, so-" You were interrupted by the sudden light forming. A second later, the hallway was dimly lit. But, you could hear marching by the distance.

You sighed, about to run behind you, only to find out there was already an army of agents behind you. This really was a horrible day.

Turning to the front, you were surrounded. With a gun. With your powers probably melting off from your lack of water.

"Look, boys, let's talk about this," You spoke, putting your arms up, "A cup of tea, why don't we?"

They raised their guns, pointed at you.

Maybe not.

"Alright, then," You press your palm together, a space in the middle for your magic. Hopefully it would work.

Nothing came out.

Why isn't anything working?

Less than a second later, your vision turned black and all you heard was a couple of gunshots. And some thuds on the ground.

Maybe it wasn't just a couple gunshots.

More than that.

You gasped abruptly, sitting up with your eyes wide. You looked down to see your scaly self. Bullet holes slowly stitching back together.

You were inside a bathtub.

Overflowing with water.

You quickly turned off the tap, hearing footsteps draw nearer, "Oh, hello," You greet, watching as Loki went inside.

He dragged a hand over his face, "How many times have you 'died'?" He asks, making you take your webbed fingers and count.

"Six?"

"More than mine,"

"Aren't you proud?"

"No," He denied, shaking his head, "I'm relieved your alive..again," He watches as you looked to your body, the holes seeming to reattach themselves.

"What happened to the mission?" You asked, laying back into the water. Letting your hair go crazy over them while you mildly float, "Did it go well?"

"We arrested our target. But we failed to keep you safe, It's easy to decree that mission has gone horribly," He states, putting his arms on the bath corners.

"Well, atleast we've got the job done,"

"How are you so laid-back?" He asks, brows furrowed as something within him starts to get annoyed.

"I don't know.." You shrugged, "Must be some kind of superpower. Unable to care?" You grinned.

"Stop being so reckless,"

"As if you aren't yourself," You kicked your legs in the water, pretending to look bored, when really, you wanted to know if he was really concerned.

"I can't keep watching you "die","

"You'll get used to it,"

"Shut up,"

"Make me," You sat up, giving him a challenging glare. A small smile plastered on your face.

"What do I get in return if I win?"

"I won't be reckless,"

"Deal," He pulls you in with his hand in the back of your neck, crashing your lips against his. Feeling relieved when you kissed back with the same passionate energy.

His hand made way to your back, running it up and down whilst your reach your arms to cling on his neck, pulling him deeper.

Though, to your badluck, he took your hands in his and pulled away. Looking at you smug, "Have I wont the deal?"

You tried to retort, only for no words to come out. You could feel him getting more smug, making you roll your eyes and sink inside the water.

"My apologies," He laughed, his hand reaching to caress your cheek, "But I'm serious. Please, don't be careless,"
