Goodbye Stranger

Mid-run Spinel changed back into her slime form and bounded towards the villain, she snapped at him, her fangs missing by just a hair. She followed up with a knee to his gut, the villain wheezed as the air was knocked out of him. He went to grab her hair but once more she shifted forms. From this close a range Spinel swallowed the man and trapped him in her mouth. She winced at the sizzling and smoke coming out from the edges of her mouth as the lava villain struggled desperately to escape.

Dabi cursed as he held his wound. He should have been more careful earlier. Dabi's vision was becoming blurry as he continued to shoot his flames from his palms. He knew the blue from his fire would signal all the heroes nearby that a villain was in the area. His skin tingled and smoked after every attack. He put his free hand over the wound on his side then activated his quirk. To stop any more blood loss, he needed to cauterize the wound. The smell of his own burning flesh mingled with the pungent odor of smoldering bodies.

One of the villains managed to get close to Dabi and punch him right in the gut where his previous wound was located. Dabi doubled over in pain as he ignited some of his body to turn the offending villain to ashes. As soon as the villain burned, Dabi stopped his flames. A few of his staples tore and bled as his legs gave out and he landed on the cold ground, his entire body sizzling as he hacked up black smoke.

Touya! Once she felt the villain in her mouth go limp, she spat his goop covered body towards another two villains and slammed the three of them into a wall. She rushed towards her brother. His body was emanating heat and she had no way of stopping it. "Firecracker, hold on..." She looked toward her mother with a conflicted expression on her face.

Spinel cursed as one of the remaining villains tried to land another attack at the trio. Spinel moved like there was a hurricane inside of her. She couldn't afford to be distracted now. The faster she knocked out the villains the faster she could help Dabi. Her body demanded energy faster than she could offer as she shifted in and out of her quirk form to attack and dodge. Every combat skill she had ever learned, both from Dabi and Eraserhead was put to good use. There was only one villain left but she was spent. In the corner of her eye she could see her mother put her hands on Dabi's back and activate her quirk. Spinel looked away as she heard Dabi's outcry of pain.

Spinel's mother had a rather odd quirk. She could heal old scars, but old scars only. However, by doing so, the person who was getting healed would be in excruciating pain and suffer temporary hypothermia. Fate had a funny way of lining things up, Dabi could get his scars healed and his body cooled down. Despite this she knew that she would be obligated to go back to that house. However, if that was the price Spinel would have to pay for asking for her mother's help, then so be it.

After a few minutes the yelling stopped and there was only one villain remaining. "Firecracker, Run!"

"But" He couldn't just leave his baby sister.

"Touya, if you don't run now, I will never be able to see you again. You and I both know the heroes are coming. So please." She urged, not turning away from the final villain.

Dabi hesitated "Be careful" Then he disappeared into the wooded area of the park.

Spinel winced as she threw another yoyo at the villain. This is the last one left; I can keep going. Just one...more. Spinel hissed as she felt the villain claw down her outstretched arm. With that same clawed arm, she trapped the villain then morphed into her blob form to devour him.

The sound of footsteps grew louder before they were eventually at their destination "What happened here?" Eraserhead asked as he took in the scene before him. A mixture of charred corpses and slime-covered groaning villains surrounded the trio. Eraserhead stood beside Present Mic, the two were out on their way back to UA when they saw the fire.
