"The hour is upon us."

The two girls beside Ningguang bowed and backed away. Then Ningguang started.

She used her Geo Vision to make four glowing orange gems float around her. The rocks spun faster, and faster, until she pointed her finger towards the offering-table. The rocks flew and then circulated the wishing mechanism placed on the table. Then Ningguang looked up and positioned herself with a finger in front of her mouth. The rocks flew inside the wishing mechanism and glowed for a second, before a bright yellow light emitted from it. The light flew into the sky and the clouds moved in a circle. Everyone stared at the sky with fascinated faces.

But then with horror and shock.

The clouds turned black and then the whole visible sky did as well. Ningguang looked around confused, but then she noticed a big thing falling down from the clouds.

It landed with a big thud and black smoke made it impossible to see what had fallen. But once the smoke disappeared, a terrifying sight was seen.

On the table laid a black creature, looking like both a dragon from the old myths, but also somewhat like a snake. The creature had knocked down the wishing machine and the offerings, and the table had snapped under its weight. It had yellow scales here and there and yellow horns. The fur on the head was a dark brow-red-orange color.

It was clear that the creature was Rex Lapis.

And it was also clear that he was dead.

Ningguang slowly removed her arm that had protected her face during the crash, and she shocked took in the scene before slowly stepping towards the mighty god she had been serving. She inspected him while the citizens quietly spoke to one another, not wanting to believe the situation.

Ningguang slowly rose from her position. She quickly turned around and said with her stern and elegant voice, which now had a tint of fear in it, her order to the Millelith guards.

"Rex Lapis has been killed! Seal the exits!"

The guard rushed in to the Terrace and put themselves on their posts, ready to make sure no one left Yujing Terrace. The people around looked frightened. But (Y/N) just stared coldly at the body.

"Wha... What's going on?!" Paimon said.

"Shh... This is the corpse of Rex Lapis. Do you really want to scream in front of it?" (Y/N) asked.

"Did you just said this is... The Geo Archons corpse?! But surely not! You can't have a corpse if you're alive? Right?"

"It seems... He is no longer alive...? " Aether mused to himself.

"Oh no, the Millelith! Looks like they're nabbing suspects who got too close." Paimon pointed towards one of the Merchants the three had spoken to just before the Rite.

"Paimon's freaking out. The Killer is amongst us! Wait... we got close... are we suspects?!" Paimon really freaked out.

"Take it easy Paimon. We will make sure we get out of here safely." Aether turned around before (Y/N) even got to finish her sentence.

"Wait, where are you going?" Paimon asked.

"It was a God we faced off against when we first arrived in this world too..." He muttered, not high enough to let anyone hear, but (Y/N) certainly did.

"What? Oh you reckless kid, don't do this!" she quietly said to herself. But she had already decided to follow him. He planned to sneak out of the place, she was sure of it.

"Aether, you do you, but I'll use the Chant of the Dark Heart. I'll be right behind you all of the time, ready to protect you, but you won't see me. Just call my name if you want me out of the shadows." Aether nodded.

(Y/N)'s POV

May the darkness and shadowing path lead me

Let the numb pain blind thee

Upon the sky of red I bind this wove

To a heart which never experienced love

She disappeared in the shadows and quietly followed Aether. This was not like the stealing of the Holy Lyre der Himmel. Bach then, the guards were tired after a long day, and not really on their watch. But now, all the Millelith guard were rested out, and ready if anyone would flee.

There was a couple of times when Millelith was about to spot Aether, but then (Y/N) came up behind the guard and patted their shoulder. They would turn around quickly, but not see anyone and say to themselves that they are stressed and their imagination is playing with them.

Finally, they were about to leave Yujing Terrace. They had reached a staircase and Aether took shelter behind a bush close to the stairs. He peaked out of it and was about to make a run for it, when his feet touched a leaf and it made a paper-ish sound. All the guards close to him turned around and he didn't have time to hide again, neither did (Y/N) have time to pat all their shoulders, and that would be suspicious, that everyone of them felt something like that at the same time. He started to run down the stairs instead and Paimon barely made it after him.

"They're here! Arrest them!" the guards shouted.

"(Y/N)!"

"The heart became loved, and the lies broke

The cursed chest was now merely a joke

Lie in the shadow, lurking for more

But for now, wait and follow the lore" (Y/N) muttered insanely fast and then she was visible beside him as he ran down. He jumped the last steps, but he couldn't get far as he saw guards running up to him in front of him, cutting of the way. Guards surrounded them all.

"There's nowhere to run!" a guard pointed his Pole-arm towards them. Aether and (Y/N) summoned their weapons and got ready to attack, but stopped when they heard something.

"Hey girlie, hold still!" (Y/N) stopped as she heard a voice say that behind her.

Three water-arrows hit Milleliths and they dropped their weapons, then a man with white clothes and burning red hair came up behind the three travelers and landed in front of them. He switched and turned his bow to two swords made of Hydro, and attacked all of the guards, then using a powerful move to make water circulate him and knocked out the people around him. Then he took away his swords and looked up, where more guards were running to the stairs.

"Come with me." He said and gestured away from the stairs and ran away. Aether almost immediately followed him, but it took a few seconds for the red-dressed girl to decide if she would follow him. She did only because the reckless blonde had already done so.

Yes, I choose "Hey girlie, hold still", not "Hey buddy, hold still" because he talked to (Y/N)

Who is their savior? Why would he save them?

Just you wait...
