"I am going to not tell you of the view of the city Amicitia that is most told, but the stories the citizens themselves told their young spirits." the story teller said and lights were lit in the eyes of the red dressed girl, just like xiao lanterns.

"Amicitia existed 3000 years ago, and before that it had existed in a thousand years, and therefore is one of the older cities. The Blood Archon, now also known as God of Misfortune and Destruction, was called by name in the city Amicitia. Her name, is Saphielis.

Now, we all have heard of her as a mean god who had no mercy, and she is used as the villain in children's' tales as well as someone to blame for the bad events lately. But, according to the writings from the past and some few who have the linage from Amicitia, the god was known as the most gentle and kind of them all. She was not known as god of destruction and misfortune, but as God of Equality. That name she got because her city would help everyone, but those who couldn't accept everyone as they were had no place there.

Saphielis had created the perfect environment, and I will tell a story of that Saphielis, not the one we all already have heard of." and the man began his story.

"Long ago, before the butterflies fluttered over earth, and when monsters were considered to be like any animal, there were no Archons. The world simply had villages with hunters instead of cities with gods.

There was one young lady, with the name meaning endless, who wished to become a hunter with all her heart.

However, the people in her village did not approve, and told her to instead see after the children.

The Endless girl did as she was told, as she had nothing to do other. The villagers had stripped her of her weapons and prey, and would not let her leave the village.

So she looked after the children, as she was told.

One child came up to her and asked, "why are you down?" And the Endless girl replied, "My wish is never ending and my strive is hopeless, therefore my name is mine. My failure is endless."

The child was a dumb but nice one, and asked the girl this. "But cannot the failure turn to endless hope?" but the Endless only shook her head.

After a while, the hunters came shouting back, saying one of their prey was invincible with wrath, and everyone should flee the village. But, the children's legs were to short, and the old had no energy to flee. And the girl of Endless stayed with them.

Hopeless, and stupid, she was called, but she stayed.

And as the prey came with all its friends to the village, the girl fought with her bare hands to protect the villagers. Her hands became rough and callused, and her body was tired and bloody, but yet she fought a hopeless battle.

And in the end, the prey stopped and so did its friends.

The prey slowly walked to the girl of Endless and asked her "why do you not flee? Why do you not fight properly? Why do you stay with the hopeless?" and the girl answered.

"I do not flee as I know they cannot flee. I do not fight properly as my weapons are gone with the fleeing. I stay with the hopeless because I wish to protect them, even though I cannot become a hunter."

And in the passion the girl spoke of, her blood shone red, and up came the newborn god of blood from the puddles.

She ordered the prey to flee, as they were only hunters too. And then she walked to the girl of Endless in all her godly might, and her red eyes shone in the same color as blood.

"You are brave enough to not flee, and strong enough to fight. You stay out of passion and the feeling all should be cared for. Your failure is not endless, child, it is your passion and kindness that are endless. You are no hunter, you are a warrior."

That was the god, and the child got permission to stay and protect her villagers, in all eternity.

Those villagers' grand-grand-grand and more grand children became the first citizens of Amicitia, and the Endless girl became an endless protector of the city.

That, my dear friends, was more a story of the protectors of Amicitia, but it still tells just as much about Saphielis, how she appeared and ow kind she was from the very start." the story teller finished as the food on the table had been eating.

(Y/N) rose and walked up to the story teller.

"You have..." she started but couldn't find the right words.

"Please, I know how many loathe her, but this is a true story from the gone city." the man already tried to make her understand, but the red girl merely waved her hand dismissing.

"That is not what I was meaning to say. The right words are...

You have a good heart and a great courage to tell the tale of the hated in a good way, and I admire you for that. Please, if you ever wish to hear any stories to tell later, come to me. I know my stories well, too." (Y/N) smiled vaguely with a soft look in her eyes.

"Ah, another fellow story teller? Have you heard the story I told before?" the man smiled back.

"I have heard all the tales of the lost places and many ways of that one, but that one must be on the top."

The (Y/N) turned around and walked back to the table the others sat at.

"That story was a healthy one. You must always remember evilness is just another side of the same coin, it told." the girl told them lecturing, then motioned away from Third Round Knockout. "Shall we get going?"

Yahho!

What do you think of the old folk tales of Amicitia, anything catching your interest? Maybe the meanings in it, or the way it was told?
