Mini went to the cupboard, and took out her diary, wiped the dust off it, and sat on the bed. She glanced at the diary, and recalled the last time she had written in it, she sighed, but then a small smile made way to her lips. She took out a pen and opened the diary. She started writing.

Dear diary,

Itne dino baad, finally mai apna diary likh rahi hu.. I remember the last time it was... Anyways, purani baate yaad nahi karni mujhe, aur itne dino me maine diary nahi likhi, par uski zarurat nahi padi yaar, kyuki jab saath insaan ho, to likhne ki kya zarurat??
Ha, hai ek.. My human diary.. jisse mai apni Dil ki har baat, har secret, har ek fear, har ek worry share kar saku.. bas fark itna hai, ki diary me, I have to write in a book, but he.. he reads me like a book.. To aaj kyu likh rahi hu?? Simple.. uski tareef usse nahi kar sakti.. Pehle hi vo hava me udta rehta hai... But anyways, I have huge news... I'm getting engaged!!! Yes.. Mini Babita is getting engaged!!
All this still feels like a dream, it feels like yesterday, jab Babes aur Hanuman uncle ke shadi ke baad bhi aise hi baithke diary likh rahi thi.. But this time, it's about me, and Neil, Neil Oberoi... Kabhi socha bhi nahi tha ki Neil se kabhi engagement hogi meri!! I don't know yaar, I still feel I'm sceptical about this, mai nervous hu.. Ye sab.. shaadi and all, mujhe lagta hai mujhse nahi hoga, but.. the fact that mandap pe mere bagal me Neil hoga, makes me feel more confident about this..
My life changed overnight, jab mai vapis India aayi thi.. but then, everything actually changed, and I can say, for better.. mujhe jo karna tha maine kiya, bina iss restriction ke ki koi you know, iske khilaf hai!! I knew I had support, if something goes wrong, someone to assure me. I know yar I've never been a person who needs assurance from others, but that was because no one understood that someone who's strong can also be vulnerable..
Sab ne bol to diya ki Mini bohot strong hai,. Mini sab sambhal sakti hai, par mini utna bhi strong ya brave nahi hai, aur vo baat Neil ko samajh aa gayi.. He saw through my facade, through my fake smile and through my way of convincing myself that I don't need anyone.
Ek baar maine Preet se kaha tha ki vo mini jo fairy tales me believe karti thi, vo marr gayi ya kahi mature ho gayi, par Neil ke aate mujhe ye realise hua ki vo mini kahi andar chupi baithi thi, jisko bas ek sahare ki, kisi ke saath ki zarurat thi, par over time, jab vo Mila hi nahi, to bas apne aas paas ek diwar bana di. Ab bas kisi ko uss diwar ke paar baithi innocent si, sensitive si mini ko dekhna tha, aur vo Neil ne kiya..
Ab finally usse engagement ho rahi hai, I feel like I'm on cloud nine. I know Neil ke dimag me bhi aisa kuch chal raha hoga.. of course, itna to overthink karta hai.. Idiot kahi ka!! I hate you Neil Oberoi!! I so hate you!!

She closed the cap of her pen and with a satisfactory smile on her face, she closed the diary and kept it back in the cupboard. She suddenly remembered something, and ran to Neil's room, she saw him half asleep, so she woke him up..

Mini: Neil.. Neil Oberoi get up...

Neil (sleepy) : itni jaldi subah ho gayi kya?? Kya hai ye yaar??

Mini: Neil!!!

Neil: ha ha uth gaya!! Bolo!!

Mini (crossing her arms) : tumne apne medicines le liya Neil Oberoi??

Neil bit his tongue, as he'd forgotten to.. but mini didn't.. She glared at him, and looked around.. Neil got confused.

Neil (whispered to himself): aas paas koi danda to nahi pada hai na??

Mini (obviously heard him): shukar karo nahi hai!!

He gulped. She went to his side draw and took out the prescription, and the tablets, she glared at him, seeing that he hadn't taken a single tablet. He nervously looked away, she came in front of him, and handed him the tablets and a glass of water. He took it, she was about to go, but before she could reach the door, he pulled her, and she lost her balance, and landed on him. She had closed her eyes anticipating the fall, but then opened her eyes to meet his.

Mini: Neil.. chodo..

She looked down, trying to control her erratic heartbeats. He made her look up, she tried to wriggle out of his hold, but he swirled her and pinned her to the wall, her one hand around his neck, and his one hand holding her by the waist, and another hand holding hers by the wall. They shared an eyelock. She smiled, and silently got out of his hold, while he was lost in her. She ran, and he ran behind her, around the bedroom and she ran out of the room, in the hall, she threw all cushions at him, and he tried to dodge it. They made a complete mess of the hall. She went behind a pillar, and looked around for him, but he was nowhere, just then, he pulled her from behind, and she stumbled.

He held her right in time, they stayed in that position, until their reverie was broken by fake coughs... They saw everyone in the hall.. Meera, Mickey, Preet and also Arya.. They immediately parted..

Arya giggled

Meera: guys, kam se kam hume sone to dete yaar

Preet: sabko utha diya!! Aur tum logo ke romance ke vajah se humari neend kharab ho gayi!!

Mickey: yaar mini!! Tu kya kya karne lagi yaar!! Tauba tauba!!

Mini: chup!!

Neil: ho gaya?? J..jao.. so jao...

They finished their teasing session, they went to sleep. Next day, dadu Biji and Naeem Bi came and spoke about the engagement dates. All were happy as the engagement was only 2 weeks away. Neil and Mini didn't talk much about it (uk why 😆) and then, Neil went into Arya's room.

Arya: chale??

Neil: ha chalo!

Arya: Veerbalika ko...

Neil: nahi batana hai!! Chalo.. Meera bahar wait kar rahi hai..

Arya: okay!!

They both sneaked out of the haveli, and joined Meera who was standing outside waiting for them

Meera: Neil, tune mini ko kyu nahi bataya??

Neil: Aree, aise thodi na batate hai!!

They left. They reached some place.
