Mini was brought out of her thoughts by the sound of the door opening, and the doctor walked out of the unit.. Mini gathered all of her courage and rushed to him, followed by everyone else..

Doctor: aap sab inki family hai na?

Nurse: ha doctor

Doctor: Dekhiye, mai aap sab ko koi jhoota dilaasa nahi dunga, the accident was quite fatal..

No sooner had the doctor said this, Mini's face paled.

Doctor: Aap sab shukar maaniye, ki unhone helmet pehna hua tha.. Varna aise accident me bachana mushkil ho gaya hota.. Helmet ki vajah se hi hum inke jaan bacha paaye hai.

Mini let go of the breath that even she didn't know she was holding.. Her face had just gotten rid of the fear of losing him, when the doctor blasted another bomb on them unannounced.

Doctor: ab jaan ka khatra to nahi hai, par phir bhi, helmet ke rehte bhi, inko head injury hui hai, I mean internally.. Shayad koi truck ya kisi bade vehicle se accident hua hai.. Abhi tak unko hosh nahi aaya hai, aur na hi hum kuch aage ka bata sakte hai.. But please, don't lose hope.. and also, be prepared for the worst.

The look of horror on everyone's faces didn't go unnoticed by the doctor..

Doctor: hum apna best koshish kar rahe hai, aur karenge bhi... 

He assured them, passed a sympathetic smile and walked away, patting Bobby's shoulder.. 

Mini sat down on a nearby chair with a thud.. Everyone's attention turned towards her, and Preet ran to her.. She looked at Preet, and chuckled dryly..

Mini: Yaar Preet kaure, dekh rahi hai kya ho raha hai?? Jab bhi mai khush rehti hu na, aisa hi hota hai.. Kabhi papaji, kabhi babes aur hanuman uncle aur ab.. Neil... Ye Neil Oberoi!!! Mujhse bola tha ki hamesha mere saath rahega.. Ab ye doctor.. (her voice started shivering) 

Preet: Mini.. Mini.. please yaar, aisi baatein mat kar

Mini: to aur kaisi baatein karu Preet?? han?? Ek baar!! bas ek baar, jab maine ye sapne sajaye ki mere zindagi me, mujhe sabse zyada koi apna hai, zindagi bhar saath dega.....

Dadu (interrupting her): to ab kisne bol diya ki nahi dega tera saath??

Mini just looked at dadu blankly.. He came and stood in front of her.

Dadu: vo thik hoga, aur jaldi hi hoga!! Usne vaada kiya tha, ki kabhi tujhe akela nahi chodega.. sun rahi hai ye baat!! 

Mini meekly nodded, still confused what he was talking about.. dadu sat beside her.

Dadu: jab humne uske ateet ke baare me jaana, to mai uske paas gaya usse baat karne ke liye..

Flashback

Dadu: Neil..

Neil: Dadu aap?? 

Dadu: Dekh Neil.. Mini ne tere ateet ke baare me hume sab kuch bata diya hai

Neil knew this was coming.. He pried his eyes away, but to his surprise, Dadu kept a hand on his shoulder.. He looked at his hand and then at him, just to see him smiling

Neil: dadu aap...

Dadu: Mai jaanta hu, ki dhoka dene ka dard kya hota hai.. Maine apne khud ke parivaar me aisa hote hue dekha hai.. Aur tera uss ladki ko chod dena, galat nahi hai.. Par tujhe ye Mini ko pehle hi bata dena chahiye tha.. 

Neil: I know dadu, par kaise bol deta mai mini ko?? I mean koshish to kiya, par ho nahi saka.. isiliye usko aise hi batana pada..

Dadu: hmm, ab jo ho gaya so hogaya.. Par aage se meri bacchi ke aankho me ek aansu nahi bardash karunga mai.. Tu usse chod ke kahi nahi jaayega na?
