Emmet x Engineer! (fem reader) reader

(this will take place a year after Ingo disappears from Unova, Emmet is living with his sister-law and nephew and trying to cope with their loss, however just as things are looking up, Emmet receives some news that his sister-law has gone missing too. The young subway twin is of course heartbroken, but is trying keep up a strong front for the public, but you can see cracks forming.

Trying to balance his work life while raising a child by himself was starting to take it's toll on Emmet's mental and physical health, So one day you ignored his usual "I'm fine! and Nothings wrong." spiel. You had enough, almost everyone else seemed convinced by Emmet's everything's normal act, but not you. the man was exhausted and needed help and you are going to help him whether he wants it or not.]

"Y/n please go home." Emmet huffed exasperatedly as he saw you sitting on his front porch for the second day in a row, his nephew Mason happily waved at you. "Hi." you happily greeted the toddler before turning your attention back to his stubborn uncle. "Not until you listen to what I have to say." Emmet shot you sharp look. "I already know what you're going to say and the answer is no, I'm fi-" you cut him off frustrated with him. "You're not fine! Stop saying that you're fine!" Emmet looked taken aback as you've never raised your voice before, especially at him!

"You may think that you're all alone in this, but you not! you have me, You have Elesa, you have others who are worried about you!" Emmet's lips were trembling as you put a hand on his shoulder. "So please, Just let me help you, if not for your sake then at least do it for Mason." the subway boss let out a shaky breath as he tried to stop himself breaking down in front of you and Mason, suddenly things started going dark as Emmet's body suddenly felt hot and everything felt heavy his breathing became more labored. You noticed right away and quickly grabbed Mason from his arms and handed the tot off to your Indeedee who distracted the boy while you tended to his uncle.

"Emmet? Emmet can you hear me?" You caught him as he was about to fall over and noticed how skinny he was. "Hey c'mon, don't do this to me man, you gotta breathe!" You said pleaded desperately trying to keep him upright, you looked around and noticed some of the neighbors coming outside watching, you quickly opened the front door and helped the semi-conscious man inside....

Cut to a while later

Emmet wakes up in his bed; cool pad resting on his forehead and all the lights off, he sat up and looked outside his window and felt his stomach drop, the last thing he remembered was talking to you on his front porch, and had a few flashes of you giving him water and trying to feed him, but. Wait...Mason? where was Mason?! Emmet jumped out of bed and checked his nephews room only to find it empty! Emmet felt another panic attack coming on, before he heard giggling coming from downstairs, Emmet tried not to wince as every step he took felt like he was walking on pins and needles, when he got downstairs he looked around before finding Mason happily chasing an Azurill around in the backyard while a being watched over by a large Pokémon he'd never seen before!

Emmet watched confused, *whose Pokémon is that? what Pokémon was that? was it threat??? Should I call the cops?* he nervously looked around for his Xtransceiver before familiar voice spoke up. "That's just old Drampa, don't worry watching kids is sort of his thing." Emmet nearly stubbled over as he whirled around to find you in his kitchen archway drying your hands off on an apron.

"What're yo-" you cut him off by feeling his forehead with a nervous look before relaxing. "Your fevers gone down." the train enthusiast looked at you bewildered. "I...had a fever?" you nodded carefully leading him to couch. "Yeah, and couple that up with the exhaustion, dehydration and panic attack it was train wreck waiting to happen, You really scared me..." Emmet eyes were downcast to his feet as you continued. "These last three days have been hectic!" A lump formed in Emmet's throat as those words left you mouth.
