(Somewhat based off an old kids movie I saw when I was little.) Ingo and Emmet were the twin imaginary friends of two lonely children, they had lots of fun with their wards, drew pictures, played games and make believe etc.,
But children grow up. and slowly they started to forget about Ingo and Emmet much to the twin's dismay.
Over time the anger from being forgotten and abandoned by their friends, took it's toll, it twisted the twins appearances; they became monstrous and their playful gentle nature was soon replace with something frightening and mischievous, they started develop abilities which they used to terrorize little children for years...
Emmet & Ingo's abilities and preferences:
Emmet prefers to hide under beds and down in basements, while Ingo prefers to hide up in attics and in closets.
Their abilities include:
Manipulating one's perception of reality: example making a hallway seem longer than it actually is, or making the most innocent scenery seem more sinister and isolating.
Teleportation: Using beds and closets to teleport themselves and victims to other locations.
Selective visibly: Ingo and Emmet normally can't be seen by humans, unless they want to be seen. with the exception of Children, Pokémon and their creators.
Environmental looping: Distorting a person's sense of direction, and making them go in circles.
Causing sensory hallucinations: auditory, smell, touch, and vision. (hearing disembodied voices and seeing shadowy figures running just out of view, Example: having a fear of fire and smelling the smoke and feeling the heat.)
Shapeshifting & conjuring illusions: they can turn into or make life-like copies of a person's fear and used it to torture them. {An example of this is Ingo protecting his former ward, Y/n. From her stalker ex, by using the image of the Ex's abusive mother to torment them.) and more...
Emotional energy consumption: When Ingo and Emmet were kids they fed off the positive emotions brought on by their ward's imagination. Now, they feed off the negative energy brought on from the terror they create, and though it doesn't have to necessarily be from a child, it could be from a person of any age, really, children just require less effort.
**Updated**
I'm adding dream manipulation and possession to the list of abilities.
Dream manipulation: Ingo and Emmet can enter a persons subconscious and manipulate their dreams. Even appearing in said dreams as friendly guides or a lost child. They do this to put the person into a false sense of security before twisting the dream into a nightmare. {Ingo displayed this in Ch.1 when he tricked Y/n into thinking he was a lost child and tried to lure her away from prying eyes. Well, before he got hungry....and went to feed off of her patient's fear. ]
Possession(sort of?): They can make a person sleepwalk. (this again is displayed briefly in Ch.1, when Y/n woke up on the floor of the hospital's Sleep study ward with no memory of how she got there.) They can even make the person act like they're awake so not to arose suspicion and concern for that person's well being...
Emmet's far better at it then Ingo is, since he spends more time around humans then his older brother does:(Ingo prefers to stalk his victims from afar then deal with them directly.) Emmet can make the person's body move fluidly and their facial expression seem almost natural...if it weren't for his unnaturally wide smile; coupled with the person's glazed over stare.
