Samantha's POV

"Ow..." I groaned, straining my eyes in the bright spotlight.

"Let the fight begin! Wildstar against the dragon slayer!" Dragon Slayer?

I managed to get my vision focused, finally staring at Wildstar. She blinked at me, in her dragon form, then looked over at an ancient stone of a dragon. She suddenly leaped forward at it, bellowing a tune of roars. Just as she reached it, a huge red dragon slammed into her. Queen Scarlet.

"No!" She roared, attempting to snap her fangs at Wildstar's shoulder, missing. Wildstar whirled around, leaped onto her back and snapped it as some creature concealed with fire flapped its wings around her. The red dragon fell limp as Wildstar and the transparent Phoenix seemed to dissolve. In her place was a small stone statue about 6 and a half inches in size.

Everything had happened so quickly. I remember falling on my knees, everything was numb, yes, I couldn't feel anything. Not even Ty shaking my shoulder, trying to snap me out of my trance, or Adam hugging me, or Ashlyn tapping my thigh, also assisting Ty... What events led us up to this?

*5 hours earlier...*

"Let us go!" I snapped, straining against the chains that held us. Our entire Company (except for Taylor) had been captured. Wildstar had tried to free us, but was tangled. Now she stood at my side, in dragon form, ready to pounce on someone.

"Let the feast begin!" The dragon in charge, Queen Scarlet if I can recall, steeped forward. She was almost smiling, her fangs beared in ready to devour us. I swallowed nervously, slightly intimidated. We were all shoved into a giant pen. I saw Ty steal a glance at me, slipping his hand alongside mine. I smiled and we wove our fingers around each other's.

"If we get out of this alive, I'm taking you on a real date." He vowed. I couldn't help but smile.

"What, this isn't enough for you?" I asked. He cracked a grin.

"Nah. I want more." We both chuckled when Adam cleared his throat.

"They're coming, we'll hav to fight our way out without getting eaten." Then he added, "I know I'm sweet, but not the edible kind!" I would've laughed, except that was when the dragons flew into the pen.

"Scatter!" I yowled. I flew into the air with Ty and Adam, being chased by a purple dragon. I separated from Ty and lured the beast away from the others, sailing high into the air. I didn't look back but kept flying straight up. My vision was starting to grow fuzzy at the lack of oxygen, as I was way up above the clouds. I started loosing consciousness when my wing was clamped shut. I didn't have any energy to fight as the dragon dragged me towards its waiting maw, the inside shining a deep pink and black in the far back of its throat. This is it. I thought dizzily, closing my eyes. It was worth it, every moment to save my friends-

Then just like that, its hot breath faded, and its grip on me disappeared. Not capable of flight, I spun in the air before another dragon secured me from crashing in its claws.

"Thought you'd need a little help." I opened my eyes to face a black dragon with purple eyes. Taylor was perched on its back with another girl, smirking at me.

"Hey, ya joined the party finally?" I wheezed. The dragon set me on the ground before pouncing on a dragon who had gotten pretty close to eating Nathan, who ducked under it. Wildstar, on the other hand, was on a roll. She had everyone safe under the roof of a low building while she herded the bloodthirsty dragons away. Finally, Queen Scarlet roared "Stop!"

I was suddenly picked up by a small brown dragon and thrown back out of the pen, as Wildstar was jostled over the fencing. I noticed that there was a circle drawn in the dirt.

And it was around both of us. A sudden burst of light from a seemingly turned off spotlight flashed on.

"Ow..." I groaned, straining my eyes in the bright spotlight.
