Author: Finally made it to when Luka became an existing character! Yay, my job has become easier now! You guys don't know how much I struggled on some episodes to figure out how to add Luka into them...
Me and the gang continued to set up for tonight's gig. Today was the annual music festival, and Kitty Section – Consisting of Rose, Juleka, Luka, and Ivan was having their first concert on Liberty, the boat where Luka and Juleka live. Kitty Section was a new development, having only decided to form a band a few weeks ago. They had asked me to join, but I had to refuse because I was already so busy with all my other responsibilities.
"Sorry, Mylène," I hear Marinette apologize as she maneuvered her way around the deck, which was cluttered with boxes and all sorts of other knick-knacks.
The Couffaine family had a messy way of living, simply put, and Marinette was trying to clean up, even though I tried to tell her it was fine. The few times I had been here to meet up with Luka to hang out, I quickly learned that they preferred to live in messy chaos. Which now that I was on Liberty for longer than five minutes, I don't blame Marinette for wanting to clean up a bit; it was a bit of a hassle navigating the mess.
Marinette hands Rose the microphone, and Rose's voice blasts out from speaking in the mic. "Do you realize it's our very first concert and it's going to be awesome!"
I quickly adjusted the volume on the mic so it wasn't blaring in everyone's ears.
"He's not here yet..." Mari pouts as she makes her way over, and of course, she was talking about Adrien.
"No worries, girl, the gig hasn't started yet," I tell her.
It wasn't supposed to start for a few hours anyway; everyone was too busy with setup, then there'd be a sound check, and a warm-up before actually playing. Adrien had plenty of time to get here.
"What if he doesn't know Juleka's address, or he got the day wrong, or he's lost?! Alya, could you check with Nino, please? You know, just casually."
Alya rolls her eyes in amusement before asking, "Don't you have his number? Why not ask him yourself?"
"I tried, but he hasn't even seen the message yet," She shows us the text that she surprisingly had indeed texted him, asking if he was still coming or if he needed help finding his way here.
I can't help but smile proudly at her. She was very nervous just to text him back when she had first gotten his number. It was good to see her be over that, and you know, act like a normal human being around him instead of being a stuttering mess. Alya hums in thought before turning her attention toward her boyfriend, calling up to him.
"Hey, Nino! Have you heard from Adrien by any chance?"
"He had something to do with his old man, he said he'll come right after."
Alya winks at Marinette, who smiles happily before we hear Captain Anarka come up to the deck.
"Captain Anarka speaking to ya, so how's it coming along me, young pirates? Ready to celebrate the-"
She notices the box Mari was holding.
Readjusting the red big-rimmed glasses on her face, she approaches and asks, "What'cha up to there, young matie?"
"Hello there, Ma'am, I'm cleaning up for tonight, your boat's gonna be clean as a whistle."
"You're cleanin'? We never pick up in this house. Didn't me daughter tell ya? We like the lived-in look; we have no rules on the Liberty. Out of chaos comes creation. Messiness is life!"
Captain Anarka laughs as she dumps the contents of the box all over the deck. Anarka moves on to talk to the rest of our friends, and we continue to set up in the wheelhouse when Mari gets a text back from Adrien.
"He responded!" She happily exclaims before her smile drops, soon mumbling, "He can't come..."
Before Alya and I could ask why Nino got a call, clearly from Adrien.
"Hey, dude. Wow...What happened? Woah, that's real rough. Good luck, dude. See ya tomorrow," He turns to us and explains his dad thinks he needs to use this time to practice his piano skills before he heads out to tell the others.
"Well, it's not exactly the first time his dad's kept him from hanging out with us. Actually, I'd been super surprised if he hadn't," Alya says, placing the metal rock and roll hand statue on the compass, but before anything else could be said, Anarka comes rushing in and grabs the statue.
"Hold it there, sailor! Never place a metal object next to a compass, you hear lass? Metal attracts the needle just like a magnet, which is why you can't let them get anywhere near each other," She explains, putting the statue close, and we watch the needle freak out before calming down as the statue is pulled away.
"I know how they feel, maybe I'm just like the statue, and Adrien's my compass. Maybe we're meant to stay away from each other forever..."
A little dramatic today, aren't we?
...
Then again, with her stalking him...
"No, it's the other way around, Adrien is the statue, and you're the compass that goes crazy about it. But you're selling yourself short, Marinette. Just think you've managed to act normal around him and became close enough to the point he boasted about you to Kagami and even responded to you first before calling Nino," I point out, and Alya nods.
"There'll be other chances, Marinette."
"That's what you said last time and the time before that..." She trails off as she heads out when Rose comes in.
"We're ready, Captain, but Luka's missing."
"(y/n) could you go and tell Luka that we're waiting for him to start rehearsal?"
"Of course, Captain, let me guess, he's in his cabin?"
Anarka nods, and I head on down.
It wasn't exactly a normal bedroom; it was a sectioned-off area from the living room and kitchen that he shared with his sister. Juleka's side of the room was as you'd expect it, dark purple and photos of all her friends, and a bureau with a large mirror. Luka's side was blue, with just a bed, a drawer underneath it, and a side table, a Jagged Stone poster hanging on the wall, with a small case holding up guitar picks. I walk in and slightly jump to see Luka meditating.
I didn't know he meditated.
I stay quiet not to disturb him when he opens his eyes and smiles at me, catching me off guard.
"H-hey just me (y-y-y-y/n). Your mom sent me to tell you the groves- the groups waiting for you."
Did I seriously just stutter?
"Hello (y-y-y-y/n)," Luka giggles, making me feel even more embarrassed for stuttering.
Sensing how I was feeling, Luka stopped and motioned for me to sit before grabbing his guitar.
"Hm, today you seem to feel like this."
He begins to play a beautiful melody, calming me down more.
