Miraculer: Part 4

When I caught up to Queen Bee she was starting to panic because there was no sign of Mayura. "Ladybug's going to think I'm incompetent." "No, she's not," I reassure her. "(s/n)? What are you doing here? I've got this." "I know but it's always a good idea to have backup," That's when we hear Mayura laugh and we turn to see her smirking at us. "Don't mess with me! Stand still!" Queen Bee shouts as we charge at Mayura who dodges both of our attacks, soon throwing me into a chimney wall that crumbles on top of me in an instant. I tried to get up but it was clear that wouldn't be an option when I hear a thump. Looking up I see Mayura was holding Queen Bee down.

"Let me ask you just one question: Do you enjoy being Ladybug's servant? Having to wait for her to loan you a miraculous? Wouldn't you rather have boundless powers of your own?" "Uh, that's three questions." "Come with us Chloé, you can be Queen Bee whenever you want," Mayura tries to coax her, and Queen Bee sighs. "Ladybug gave me another chance so I'll give her one as well." "You're going to regret this," She goes for the bee miraculous when Queen Bee takes this chance to turn the tables on Mayura. "You're going to regret underestimating me you despicable bird! What would happen if I took this from you?" Queen Bee starts to grab the peacock miraculous when Mayura backflips over Queen Bee and makes her escape. Queen Bee starts to freak out and I call to her. "Queen Bee, please help me," She rushes over and helps get me out. "I'm such a failure, Ladybug will never trust me again," She says and I grab her shoulder reassuringly. "That's not the case Queen Bee, Ladybug, Chat Noir and I trust you but there's a good reason we've been reluctant to hand you the bee miraculous, I promise we'll tell you once this is all over but for now," I pull her in for a tight hug.

"Thank you for trying to get back the peacock miraculous, you have no idea how much that means to me." "But I didn't get it back and I lost Mayura..." "That's ok, what matters is you were willing to help even after being mad at us. Come on, let's go see if Ladybug needs our help with Miraculer," We head back to the hotel to see Carapace, Rena, and Chat holding Miraculer in one spot trying to get her baton which was being protected by shelter. LB looks confused as she holds a pillow. Miraculer manages to shove Chat off of her. That's when Queen Bee and I jump in and grab hold of her as well as Queen Bee yells, "Tickles!"

"I thought we were friends!" "Well you were wrong, Sabrina is my friend, not Miraculer," Ladybug walks up with a feather after ripping up the pillow and starts tickling her till she uses shelter to cover the tickled area. LB snatches the baton and breaks it, releasing the akuma. "Time to de-evilize! Miraculous Ladybug!" Everything is fixed while Sabrina looks around confused, Queen Bee soon turns to Ladybug. "Ladybug? Mayura got away from me. I'm sorry, utterly sorry." "That's ok Queen Bee, we'll get her next time," Ladybug reassures her before holding her hand out for the miraculous. "If you'd given it to me earlier we probably would've defeated Hawkmoth," Ladybug lets out a sigh. "Chloé I should have told you this a long time ago and I'm sorry I didn't say so sooner but I may never be able to let you be Queen Bee again."

Queen Bee's eyes widen before glaring at Ladybug as she yelled, "What?! But I did everything you asked me to!" "I know-" "So why then?! Is it because I did a bad job?" She continues to yell, tears pricking her eyes. "Chloé. That's not the case. You're an amazing hero and you have worked the hardest for the right to be a hero but this is to protect you and your loved ones from Hawkmoth. He knows you're Queen Bee and just from today has proven he's willing to use that fact against you, against your friends, and against us to get his way," Tears stream down Chloé's face as she cries in her hands and we pull her in for a hug as she sobs, "But if I'm not Queen Bee how am I supposed to be a good person?" "Chloé you already are a good person, yes you've still got ways to go but you're on the right path thanks to Queen Bee but you need to make that journey. If you ever feel like you're struggling with how to do good don't be afraid to ask for advice and think of what would help those around you. So tell me what's the best solution to keep Hawkmoth from attacking you and your family and friends?"

Chloé pulls back and stares with watery eyes as she looks between the team and her hands. "The best thing for those around me and myself would be to give up being Queen Bee..." She trails off, clenching her fists before taking a breath. "Buzz off," Pollen flies out and Chloé cups her in her hands and hugs her. "Thank you for letting me fight with you, I'll miss you, Pollen." "I'll miss you too my queen," Chloé kisses the top of Pollen's head and reaches for the comb, soon saying goodbye as she takes it off and hands it to Ladybug. "Thank you Chloé," LB thanked her before her earrings beeped and she takes off with Rena and Carapace.

"Thank you for making this sacrifice Chloé, that's the most heroic thing I've seen anybody do," I tell her with a smile before Chat and I leave to let her talk with Sabrina. The next day at school Marinette and I watch Chloé confront Lila before storming off after they exchanged a few words. "I hope I didn't upset Chloé, she's worked so hard." "It was for everyone's own good and she understands that along with she can be a good person with or without a miraculous, she'll be ok," I reassure Marinette before we head on up to class.
