I smile down at my phone for the confirmation of the cake that Max and Kim were getting. Today was (y/n)'s birthday, and apparently forgot to tell the others, or I was the only one who asked based on their reactions. They were quick to hop on the idea of a surprise party after Kitty Section's show. A few of them went out to get gifts while the rest of us stayed here to prepare for the show. I was currently on the lower deck making sure all preparations were done since (y/n), Alya, and Marinette had been some of the first to arrive. I get a few more things done before hearing footsteps approaching. Somewhat in a panic, I hop onto my bed and pretend to be meditating. I hear whoever enters stumble into the wall, but otherwise stays quiet, so I opened my eyes to see (y/n).
Figured it was her.
"H-hey just me (y-y-y-y/n). Your mom sent me to tell you the groves- the groups waiting for you," She adorably stutters out.
"Hello (y-y-y-y/n)," I joke with a chuckle, but quickly go silent after noticing she felt more embarrassed.
I motioned for her to sit and play the tune she was radiating today.
"Beautiful and correct as always," She comments when I finish, before her attention turns to my collection of pics and she grabs the Jagged Stone one she gave me and smiles at it. "You still have it."
"Yeah, it's my favorite pic to use. I keep it there so I won't lose it."
"I'm glad to hear you like it that much."
"I think I'd better join the 'groove' you said," I tease her while playfully rolling my eyes, and she groans/
"Did I really say that? Oh no..."
"You're such a funny person (y/n)," I say with a laugh before heading up to the deck and helping with the sound check.
Once set up, I reveal the speakers we were using and strike a chord on my guitar, the sound blaring, resulting in helicopters, cars, and boats from the police to visit us. Officer Roger comes walking up to the doc with his stern face on.
"Ms. Anarka, are you completely out of your mind?! I'm reading 160 decibels, that's ten times the sound of a jet engine! You just can't do this, you'll have to turn the volume down!"
Oops, didn't mean to be that loud...
"It's the National Music Festival today, Officer Roger! My crew is allowed to play as loud as they want!" Mom argues, and I let out a sigh.
She wasn't going to budge on this.
It's a music festival, not a noise festival. If you don't turn the volume down, I'll ban your concert altogether!"
"Uh, maybe we can just turn the volume down a bit, Captain? Then there'd be no more problems," Marinette tried to suggest, but was quickly turned down.
"No! Out of the question! I didn't name my gallian Liberty for nothin' you know! It's a matter of principle. Haven't you ever heard of freedom of speech, Roger? This is me home, I do as I want!"
"Do you have a document stating that authorizes you to moor your boat house in this location?" Roger counters.
"The sea belongs to everyone!"
"You're not allowed to moor here without a parking permit, which means you can't play your concert here either," That's when he notices the cluttered space. "Not to mention this incredibly messy deck, which is a public visual disturbance."
He hands her a ticket before giving another because the decorations were too decorated. Blank stares were given. Mom shreds the tickets, earning her more of them before they left. Mom storms off to the wheelhouse, and not long after, the boat is covered in a strange purple mist, freaking us all out.
