After a week of waking up extremely early and non-stop training the Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff match had arrived. Aoife Wood was not letting her team off lightly with her speech.

"Right team, we have trained really hard all week for this. All those hours better not have been wasted." she said, pacing the changing room.

"Do you think all Wood's are over the top for their matches?" James whispered to Sirius and Opal.

"She's been our captain for three years now, we should be used to this." Opal whispered back.

"Wonder who is going to be captain next year?" Sirius asked.

"Obviously me." James said, holding up his skinny arms and showing them off.

"Yeah, no," Opal said, moving his arms away from her face.

"It will be me." Sirius smirked.

"It will be none of you." Benjy said, leaning into the conversation. "Knowing Aoife, she'll find a way to come back."

"Ben has a point." Opal said, as Aoife stopped pacing and looked at all of them.

"Right, let's head out! You all know what you have to do." she said, picking up her broom from the ground.

"Wait Aoife, you forgot the main bit." Opal said, stopping the rest of the team.

Aoife sighed and rolled her eyes, she then turned and faced everyone.

"Alright team, touch Wood we're not going to lose this match."

Everyone patted her shoulder as they flew onto the pitch, this had been a tradition since Opal got on the team, now every match they did it much to Aoife's disappointment.

"Let's go!" Fabian and Gideon shouted, twisting their bats around.

The team got into their position waiting for the match to start.

Opal noticed that the Hufflepuff team had gotten a lot better, apparently their captain and seeker, Andrea Diggory had made them train a lot more. But they didn't have Opal."

"Opal!" Sirius shouted, throwing the Quaffle towards Opal, she caught it and raced towards the posts scoring instantly.

"Ten points to Gryffindor! Not even been playing thirty seconds yet!" The commentator, Duncan Chang said. "Well done Wings!"

She high fived Benjy before continuing to play.

An hour had passed since the game started and both teams were becoming tired from playing.

"Potter! Catch the damn snitch!" Aoife shouted after blocking a goal from a Hufflepuff chaser. Both teams had three hundred and fifty points.

Opal could tell that Benjy and Sirius were becoming less and less motivated.

"I'm trying Wood!" James shouted back.

In the corner of Opal's eye she saw a glimmer of gold.

"James! There!" she shouted, pointing at the speck, but she didn't realise Andrea was next to her and started racing towards the snitch.

"Shit."

Opal looked around; she saw Benjy surrounded by the other chasers.

"Benjy! Over here!" she shouted, waving her arms for the Quaffle, Benjy spun around throwing the ball towards her, she almost missed but caught it in the nick of time, throwing it to the goal posts.

"Gryffindor scores again!" Duncan said into the microphone, Opal could hardly hear him over the loud cheers. "I'm pretty sure that is Wings' twenty second score this morning!"

"Fabian! Do you think you could get a Bludger close to Diggory?" Opal asked, flying over to him.

He looked around at the Bludgers and nodded. "Yeah, I can try."
Opal scored a few times before it was announced.

"Potter catches the Snitch! GRYFFINDOR WINS!" Duncan shouts loudly over the cheers.

Celebrations in the common room went ahead.

"We won! We won!" James and Sirius chanted loudly across the common room earning cheers from the Gryffindors. They were still in their Quidditch robes, despite the match ending three hours earlier.

"You would think they got the most points." Opal rolled her eyes and Peter and Remus.

"Hey, I caught the Snitch. Rules state that the Snitch is worth one hundred and fifty points." James said, raising his eyebrows at her.

"I scored twenty-five times, that's two hundred and fifty points, all you had to do was catch one tiny little ball."

"That's what she said." Sirius laughed.

Opal felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Hey, Opal." Duncan Chang stood behind her.

"Oh hi, Duncan right?"

He smiled and nodded. "Yeah, you played really well today."

"Thank you, I do try my best."

"I just wanted to ask if you wanted to go to the ball with me?" he asked her, rubbing behind his neck.

"Oh um." Opal replied in a shocked manner, she looked towards the boys, each of them looked at her in astonishment. "Yeah, that would be great."

"Great, fantastic," Duncan said, smiling brightly. "I'll see you then."

"Yeah." Opal said, still in shock. She watched as he made his way back to Benjy and his other friends. She locked eyes with the girls on the other side of the common room, they all stood smiling at her, Mary mouthed "Oh my god!" while fanning herself with Marlene's scarf.

Dorcas and Marlene gave Opal identical smiles.

"Look at our little Blaze!" James said, putting an arm around her shoulder. "Now I have to do the big brother stuff and kick his arse as a warning."

"Shove off, Prongs, I'm older than you."

"Only by a month!"

"And a half!"

"Look at her." Peter said, wiping a fake tear off of his cheek.

"She's all grown up." Remus said, pulling her into a hug.

"Opal has a date." Sirius said, squeezing her cheeks lightly, somehow, he seemed less enthusiastic than the others.

"You lots are so annoying." she said, pulling away from them.

"Wait, that means you're not going with Evans?"

"Oh no." Lily shouted from across the common room.

"Evans!"

"Run Lily, Run!"
