The leaves on the trees had fallen off the trees and snow had finished falling, Christmas came by quickly, which Opal was grateful for, it was her first Holiday without her parents. She'd kept her mind off of it, deciding to go to St Mungo's for the day.
As March rolled around the exam stress began, Opal had all of her papers sprawled across the sofa, attempting to read three books at once.
"Don't sit there!" she said, quickly before Peter had moved her parchment. "If you want to sit by me you have to sit on the floor or on that chair by the stairs."
"The chair five miles away from us?"
"Chair or floor."
"I'll take the floor then... are you studying Defence, potions and charms at the same time?" he asked.
"I have five exams this week and I am so screwed." she huffed.
"When was the last time you took a break?"
"About six weeks ago in the holidays when I said I'll be fine and I don't need to study cause I have all the time in the world."
"Rookie mistake... see this is why I colour coded everything..." his voice trailed off as Opal gave him a glare, he looked at her time table. "Don't you have a muggle studies exam tomorrow as well?"
Opal slammed her book shut. "I'm getting a snack."
"Am I allowed to come or are you going to banish me to the floor again."
"You can come with me." she said, as he followed her out. "How come you're not worried about the exams?"
He shrugged. "I always do fine, I don't know why you're so stressed. You always do well in exams."
"That's because I'm trying to get grades to do something, I'm not going straight into Quidditch like I've planned my entire life." Opal said, picking at her nails. "If I mess up then I'm screwed."
"You're not gonna be screwed." Peter said. "You'll be alright. You'll be a healer in no time."
"What are you doing after school?"
"Fuck knows. I did not think that far ahead."
"Pete!"
"I'm kidding... kinda." he shrugged. "Probably ministry work,"
"Is that all?" Opal asked.
He furrowed his brow. "What?"
"It's just that everyone ends up at the ministry, it's like a default decision... it just seems dull."
"Thanks for being supportive Opes." he rolled his eyes.
"I didn't mean it like that, I just... is there something you wanted to do when you were younger."
Peter began to hesitate.
"Ooh there is something, I can see it in your eyes." Opal glimmered.
"Nah it's stupid."
"Nothing is stupid. What is it?"
He looked at her, "I wanted to be a Professor-"
"Really!"
"See I told you it's stupid." he said, walking in front of her.
"Did I say it was stupid? That's really cool, have you spoken to McGonagall or do you know what class you would want to teach?" she said, running after him.
"I've had maybe one conversation with her but I kinda just turned it down-"
"Why would you do that?"
