16th April 1979Sirius had sent letter's to Regulus but he hadn't received anything back from him. Opal could tell he was worried. He had tried to hide the panic attacks from her but she knew. She always knew.
He had disregarded her efforts to get some potions, from Eunice, for the nightmares. She had even gotten James to have a word with him but nothing.
He just told them he was fine and that he would deal with it.
In early April Opal had gone to St Mungo's for an appointment.
"Is everything okay?" Sirius asked when she got to Potter manor, Fleamont and Euphemia had offered it as headquarters for the Order as a help to them.
"Yeah, fine. Just a check up. It seems like Dragon Pox is going around. I just want to be careful." She rested her head on his shoulder as they waited for the rest of the Order to arrive for the meeting, which was like any other meeting, the same updates, the same orders.
The only difference was halfway through the meeting, Alastor Moody was interrupted by an out of breath Caradoc Dearborn. He could only mutter a few words gaspingly. "You-know-who- Death eaters- dark mark-"
Opal stood up alarmed, looking over at Sirius who had the same expression.
"Where?" Moody asked, sharply.
"Rosebud shopping centre," Caradoc managed to say. "There's death eaters everywhere, I've left Dedalus to get help."
Not even a minute later Opal and the rest of the Order were transported to the shopping centre.
"Wings, Meadowes, Pettigrew, Fenwick go upstairs, help the muggles as much as you can-" Moody ordered loudly over all the screaming.
She gave Sirius' hand a quick squeeze before catching up with Peter and Benjy up the unmoving escalator.
"This way-" Benjy said, taking the lead.
It seemed the upper level of the centre was cleared, most of the muggles had evacuated the area.
"The shops are empty," Dorcas said, checking the vacant Clintons, her wand outstretched in front of her.
A scream not too far away from them caused them all to run towards it quickly.
"Stupefy!" Opal shouted, using the spell to make a deatheater fall backwards.
A young woman crouched in the corner, wearing a Woolworths shop uniform. "Who was that? What's happening! I was on my break and everyone-" she breathed heavily. "How did you do that?" she asked Opal.
"Let's get you out here." Opal said, holding her hand out to help her up.
There was a loud explosion from the ground floor.
"Shit!" Benjy shouted, running towards it, Dorcas and Peter followed swiftly behind, but Opal went the other way to help the women leave without being stopped by any more death eaters.
"What's going on?" she asked again.
"There's a few bad people out here-" Opal began.
"Yeah, the store was mugged the other day, but this seems worse, they've never evacuated the shopping centre. Even last Christmas there was a huge gas leak, down near the bakery, we were still open." she rolled her eyes.
Opal looked at her name badge, Christine. "This is a little bit bigger than a mugging, Christine." she said, picking up her pace.
"This way," Christine said, pushing open staff only doors, leading towards a fire exit. "Holy shit!" she said looking up at the sky, the Dark Mark was above them, the cloudy dark clouds amongst it.
