Lily, take Harry and go!

The day started with rain, and it didn't seem like there was any sign of it stopping. It had been two weeks since the loss of Dorcas. She couldn't have a funeral.

It wasn't safe.

Over the days Sapphire had begged her parents to see her again, Opal found it hard to keep coming up with excuses, but with her birthday today she had something to occupy her.

"Mama! Pa-foot! My birthday is today!" Sapphire said, climbing up onto Sirius' lap, he was sitting at the table reading the Daily Prophet.

"Yes it is! You're a very smart girl, aren't you?" Sirius said, ruffling her hair, he had given up on getting her to call him dad. It just wasn't meant to be. "Happy Birthday Sapphie."

"Heard anything from James and Lily today?" Opal asked, she cut the crusts off of Sapphire's sandwich, and put it on her plate.

He shook his head, grabbing the plate off of her and placing it in front of Sapphire. "Nothing." he put the paper down, rubbing his eyes in distress.

"What's wrong, love?"

He looked up at her and sighed. "Nothing."

"Is that the only thing you can say to me today?" she prompted.

"It's stupid, just a theory."

"Nothing you say is stupid. I'm all ears." she said, stroking his head.

He chewed the inside of his cheek in hesitation. "The spy... in the Order. I think I know who it is."

She pulled away, her brows furrowing. "Who do you think it is?"

There was a long silence before he spoke. "I think it's Remus."

Opal gave a dry laugh. "Okay, you do say stupid things," she shook her head.

"There's evidence-"

"Where?" her voice grew harsh.

"He came back and a week later Marlene was dead-"

"That doesn't mean he had something to do with her murder!"

"Opal, only a few of us knew that the protection charm would be down. He was one of them."

She shook her head, "This is Remus you are talking about, he's our friend-"

"He left as soon as Marlene died!"

"Because Dumbledore told him to go!" she shouted. "He wouldn't have left otherwise!"

There was a beat of silence.

"How could you possibly think Remus is the spy?"

"Opal, he's a werewolf!"

Opal opened her mouth in disbelief, she went to speak, but his eyes averted away from her and towards the door, she turned around and saw Remus in the doorway.

He stared at Sirius, his face unreadable. "I'm back."

"Remus-" Opal breathed.

He didn't say anything before whipping around and out of the flat.

"Remus!" she shouted, she turned back to Sirius who gave her a guilty look. "This is no time to be turning against one another!"

She ran downstairs, trying to catch up to him, but he was a lot faster than her, and he'd already made his way past the post office.

"Remus! Remus, wait, please!"

"What Opal!" he shouted, he turned around, his face full of anger.

"Don't go-"
