Opal was very thankful for Eunice's offer of being her shadow for the Summer holidays; she had learnt so much over the past six weeks, and had decided to study towards becoming a Healer after Hogwarts.

"Right, after you take Mr Foxton to his room you can take your break, Miss Wings." Madam Olivers said.

"Wings, you say? You're not related to Celestine Wings by any chance, are you?" Mr Foxton asked, as Opal began pushing his wheelchair back to his room.

"Yeah, she's my mother, well was- she still is but-" she began stuttering over her words.

Mr Foxton raised his hands, "I heard about the attack, it broke my heart. She was one of my students when she was doing her Auror training."

"She was?"

"Yes, she was one of my very best. Told her she had a very bright future with the team, I ended up retiring just before she gave up her position." he told her, the light in his eyes faded. "She was a very extraordinary witch, I assume you are just like her."

Opal gave a small smile. "I wouldn't say so,"

"Why's that?"

"I feel she was way better at that stuff than I ever would be."

"Ah, you are still young, once you're older you'll see the similarities." Mr Foxton said, as they made it into his room where another healer was waiting for him. "You might even surprise yourself, Miss Wings."

"Ready for your nap, Nigel?" the healer asked him.

"If I must." he rolled his eyes.

Opal said goodbye and made her way down to the Janus Thickery ward where Amethyst was staying, but as she entered her room her older sister wasn't in there. She looked around the ward, peeking in the other rooms in case she was there.

She ended up at the gardens but after she couldn't find her she began to worry, what if something's happened to her?

She tried to shake the thoughts away as she continued down a corridor, moments later she found Amethyst sitting in a waiting room.

"Am!" Opal rushed towards her.

Amethyst looked up, her eyes glazed and blank. Her lips turned slightly at the familiar face.

"You're freezing, Ammy." Opal said, taking her hand. "Come on, let's go back to your room."

They headed back and were greeted by a very young healer, who looked very stressed.

"Oh thank Merlin!" she said, checking over Amethyst. "This is the third time this week!"

"She's done this before?" Opal asked.

"Miss Wings is very adventurous. Healer Jans found her strolling on the street on Tuesday, I don't know how she managed to get outside."

Opal furrowed her brows. "Why wasn't I told about this?"

The healer began to stammer, looking through the books. "Uh, a letter was sent that evening, Miss Wings."

"I haven't received anything." Opal said.

"You may have gotten a dodgy owl, I apologise."

"It's fine, maybe someone else picked up the letter,"

Amethyst began humming next to her.

"Chess?" Opal suggested.

She gave a faint nod.

That was the best response she would ever be able to give.
