The first two weeks of the summer holidays had passed, Opal and James had already managed to break three windows by practising Quidditch, flown into the shed trying to contain a bludger and now they were throwing a Quaffle to one another in the drawing room.

"Opal! James! Stop making so much noise. Ruby is taking her nap." Celestine's voice came from the hallway.

"We're not making that much noise." Opal said, passing the Quaffle to James.

"If you wake Ruby up, you're on night duty, I've already put her cot in your room for this evening's meeting." Celestine said, walking into the room sighing at the two on their brooms. "You two need to get down and leave the room, the order will be here soon."

The order of the phoenix, an organisation set up by Albus Dumbledore to help defeat 'the dark lord', the Wings manor had been made headquarters where all the meetings are held. James and Opal had met a few of the members but were forbidden to join in on any of the meetings.

"Can't we just join the meeting for today?"

"We have told you, James, you two are just not old enough."

"But Amethyst and Emerald-"

"Are of age, Opal. They are both training to become aurors, these meetings are vital for them."

Opal rolled her eyes behind her mothers back.

"Don't roll your eyes at me, missy." Celestine said, walking out of the room. "Oh, and a letter just arrived for you, Alexa left it on the kitchen side."

Opal entered the kitchen picking up the letter addressed to her in bright red ink. She smiled as she put the letter into her pocket, she would read it later without any prying eyes.

James gave her a weird look as he walked in after her. "Who's it from?"

"No one." Opal said, walking upstairs.

"Opal, who is it from?" James asked following her.

Opal sighed. "It's from Lily, I'm not allowed to show you."

James gaped at her. "You're sending letters to Evans? Whenever I get Maximus to send the letter he doesn't budge."

"Yeah, I may have trained him not to send them to Lily when you ask."

"What?!"

"You were just going to send those horrible lyrics to her."

"I was not!" James said, then he started nodding. "Okay, I was going to send a howler with me singing them-"

"Oh my gosh, James no!"

"It would have been cute and romantic-"

"No it wouldn't."

"What are you both fighting about?" Emerald said, walking in between the two.

"Em, isn't it romantic when a boy sends his future girlfriend-"

"Questionable." Opal slipped in.

"-romantic love letters disguised as lyrics."

"He was going to send a howler to her."

"But it's romantic!"

"Not when you're screaming at her."

Emerald took a deep breath placing both her hands on his shoulders. "James, I'm going to be completely honest with you, because you're like my little brother and I love you very much."

James nodded, smiling at her.

"Lily is never going to go out with you, please for the love of Merlin, leave the poor girl alone."
