1st March 1981

"Opal! Opal, wake up!" she awoke abruptly, from Sirius shaking her awake.

She automatically jumped up. "What is it? What happened?" her throat went dry, her eyes burning from the bright light.

"It's Amethyst. They caught her." he said, quickly.

She furrowed her brows. "What?"

"They caught her, she's at Azkaban."

She rubbed her eyes, trying to register what he was saying. "What do you mean?"

"Moody and Marls were on a mission, and she was there, but she was too slow and Moody was able to immobilise her. But she's refusing to talk to anyone unless it's..." he trailed off.

"Who does she want to speak to?"

He hesitated. "She wants to talk to you,"

She let out a sigh. "Of course she does. When do they want me to go?"

"As soon as possible."

Opal shivered as she walked up the dark stoney steps, Sirius walked beside her, refusing to let go of her hand. They followed Alastor up the prison.

"This place is awful," she heard Sirius mutter.

"She's right at the top." Alastor told them. "That's where they keep the notorious prisoners."

As they walked up the steps Opal managed to peer outside a tiny window, the wind whistled as a group of dementors floated around.

"You okay?" Sirius asked.

She nodded in response, but her stomach churned in a way it had never done before.

"Not the best place to be is it?" Alastor said. "Usually they don't allow visitors. But your sister is causing havoc. Here we are."

They stopped outside a large wooden door, he pulled a key from his pocket. It creaked loudly as it opened.

She saw Amethyst sitting down, her wrists in shackles attached to the table, she was wearing a grubby prison outfit, her smile grew when she saw Opal, but she didn't say anything.

"She's here now, now you can talk."

"I want to speak to my sister alone." her voice snarled.

"That's not going to happen, Wings."

Amethyst raised her brows, huffing as she sat back in the chair.

"Five minutes. That's all you get." Alastor told her.

"Perfect." she grinned.

"I'm not leaving her here alone," Sirius shook his head, making his forehead crease.

"I'll be fine," Opal reassured.

"We're just going to have a little sisterly chat, Black... maybe you should do that with your brother– oh wait, my bad," Amethyst smirked.

"Just wait outside," Opal told him.

"I swear, Opal if she hurts you-"

"She's restrained. She's not going to get the chance," she said. "Wait outside,"

Sirius gave her an unsure look, but he followed Alastor outside the cell.

"You can sit." Amethyst gestured to the chair opposite her table.

The metal chair scraped across the stone as Opal pulled it away before sitting down.

"How are you?" Amethyst asked.

"Why did you want to speak to me?" Opal asked, ignoring her.

"How are you?" she repeated tapping her fingers across the table. "How's Ruby, miss that little kiddo."

"You're not going to talk are you?" Opal rolled her eyes. "You're unbelievable, you know that-" she stood up hastefully, making her way towards the door.

"Opal wait!" there was a panic in her voice. "You're in danger."

Opal paused, turning back around. "How so?"

But it didn't last long before Amethyst cackled loudly. "I can't believe you actually think I'm stupid enough to betray the dark lord-"

"You betray your entire family, but he gets special treatment?" Opal snarled. "I hope you rot in here."

A part of her wanted to cry for her sister. Her sister who vowed to protect her when she was a child. Someone Opal would go to when she needed help, now she stared at her, eyes full of hatred.

Her sister was her best friend.

Now she was an enemy.

"It's pretty cushy up here, like a penthouse." Amethyst glimmered. "Food three times a day, warnings of a kiss- yes it's a dementors kiss but nonetheless–"

"What happened to you?" Opal breathed out. "You were never like this– you weren't evil-"

"I grew up. I realised where my loyalties lie-"

"You ended up in Azkaban-"

"Only until necessary. When our Dark Lord takes over the world, he will come for me."

"Amethyst, you're going to spend the rest of your life here. You're not getting out–"

"We'll see about that." she glowered.

"Goodbye, Amethyst." Opal said, coldly. "Have a nice life."

She opened the door where Alastor and Sirius waited.

"What happened?" Sirius asked.

"Nothing. She didn't say anything." Opal shook her head. "She's not on our side."

Sirius wrapped his arm around her, kissing her temple tenderly.

"This was in her possession." Alastor said, pulling out a small glass vial. She recognised it from the night Amethyst made her fill it up with her tears. It was still full.

"She didn't use them?" Opal asked.

Alastor shook his head.

"I thought she would have given them to him..." she said, quietly.

"I think you should take them back." Alastor handed them to her.

"Can we get out of here?" Sirius shuddered. "This is probably the worst place I've ever been."

Opal nodded, taking a hold of his hand. "We will never come here again."
