When Opal was younger she loved staying at the Potters, Effie would always make her favourite pancakes, and freshly picked strawberries from her garden, Monty would be sat down at the table first, reading the Daily Prophet waiting for James and Opal to wake up.

Now Effie tried her hardest to get Opal to eat even a strawberry. She lay in her bed watching as the sun rose in the sky. She had watched it rise everyday for the past two weeks, she'd taken to sitting on the balcony rather than inside, that way she didn't feel like she was rotting in her bed.

This morning she'd leaned over the banister, catching a glimpse of her house. She still hadn't been able to go inside yet, although she didn't think it would be the best for her right now.

The door opened behind her, Euphemia walked out holding a watering jug. "Morning lovely," she said, beginning to water the flowers, she hummed softly, it came out so naturally, she had forgotten how much her mother would absentmindedly hum when she was concentrating.

Opal hadn't realised she'd started crying until Euphemia wrapped her arm around her, "I want to tell you it's going to get easier but that would just be a lie. Losing a parent is one of the worst things to happen to us, let alone losing both."

"I just want to stop feeling like this, I want to stop crying. I'm so tired." she said, using her sleeve to wipe her cheek. "Everyday is the same and I feel like a burden-"

"No, don't you ever feel like that." Euphemia told her softly. "What you've gone through is unimaginable, you've dealt with it so well, anyone else in your shoes couldn't do the same." she stroked her head, "You would never ever be a burden to any of us,"

"Opie!" she heard Ruby's voice from behind her, she saw Sirius carrying her over to them.

"Sorry, she wanted to see you." he told her apologetically.

Opal smiled softly as she took her sister from his arms. "Morning Rubes."

It was as if she had put on a mask, she didn't want her younger sister to see her upset that would only make her ask more questions, so she put on a brave face and smiled at her.

"Auntie Eff made pancakes!" she said excitedly.

"Did she? Did you leave me any?"

"I left two, Uncle Monty told me too."

"Only two?" Opal shook her head as she tickled Ruby's stomach. "I'm starving, let's see if there's any more, huh?"

"James ate all of them."

"That greedy son of a-"

"Opal!" Euphemia scolded.

"Will mummy and daddy be there?" Ruby asked, pulling at Opal's cloak, they had gotten ready to head to the Burrow, she would be staying with her godparents now.

"No, Rubes. But Bill and Charlie will be there,"

"Charlie's really funny."

Sirius stood in the doorway with Remus. "Ready?" he asked.

Opal nodded, taking Ruby's hand. "Yeah, let's go."

They took the Knight bus to the mis-shapen house, they hadn't even stepped off the bus before Molly Weasley rushed out of the house to welcome them, giving each of them a hug. "There you are! Are you okay? Are you hungry? I made food, come inside." she ushered them not letting them have a chance to say anything.

As they walked in they saw the table filled with food, you would have thought it was a feast at the Great hall again.

"Charlie! Ruby's here!" Bill said, running down into the kitchen.
