AMBUSH AT WINGS MANOR

Sunday 5th June 1977

In the early hours of Saturday morning ministry officials got word of an attack at the house of ex Chudley Cannons Keeper, Killian Wings, 41. Unknown death eaters raided the manor, disturbing the peace.

His wife, Celestine Wings, 40, ex auror, and daughter, Emerald Wings, 19, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Wings and his eldest daughter, Amethyst Wings, 19, reside at St Mungo's. The former Cannon's keeper who was in a teaching position as Defence Against The Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts. (rumour has it the role has been tabooed) is currently in a coma due to head trauma, it is unknown if he will awake.

Amethyst Wings (19) was brutally tortured in the gruesome attack, healers have confirmed that she is awake but unresponsive, currently residing at the Janus Thickey ward.

Fortunately the two younger Wings children are safe with Opal Wings, 17, currently studying her N.E.W.Ts at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Ruby Wings, 4, who was staying with close family friends Fleamont and Euphemia Potter.

Condolences to the family, such a heart breaking story to tell.

Sirius felt useless.

It had been three days since the attack.

Opal hadn't spoken to anyone since, she didn't leave her father's side, refusing to let go of his hand. He stayed with her as much as he could, guilt resided in him, knowing that he was probably related to the attackers.

James had told him not to think that but he couldn't help it. They had planned the funeral for Celestine and Emerald, well the Potters had.

"How is she doing?" James asked him as he walked out of the room to get the two a drink.

Sirius shook his head. "I don't know what to do, she hasn't said anything... I-" he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

"Go home, get some rest."

"I'm not leaving her-"

"Sirius, go home. You've not slept in a bed for days, I'm going to stay with her." James told him.

Sirius looked back at the room then back at James.

"I'm not going to tell you again, I'll get the healers to kick you out."

"Okay, let me say goodbye." he said, turning back into the room. Opal hadn't moved. He spoke softly, as if his voice would startle her. "Hey, I'm gonna go back home. James is gonna stay here with you."

She didn't say anything but nodded her head, he brushed aside her hair, kissing her temple. "I love you."

He picked up his cloak from the chair as she put her hand on his, her voice was strained, and broken. "I love you too."

His heart broke to see her in such a way, he passed James on the way out, they gave one another a supportive smile before he left.

James had seen Opal cry thousands of times, in fact he was the cause of her many tears, especially when they were children. But now he could barely recognise his best friend as he entered the room after Sirius.

He sat beside her, studying her, the circles under her eyes had grown darker since yesterday. She turned to him, not saying anything as he pulled her into a hug.
