26th July 1978

The beginning of Summer seemed to fly by, with each Order meeting more information was being found out about Voldemort. It seemed like they were on track, a few death eaters had been caught, but Moody had told them they had a lot more work to do.

But there was one thing all of them were very excited about.

"I was able to get us all Quidditch World Cup final tickets," James said, excitedly. "And we've got really good seats, dad's mates with the ref, so we've got the best view."

"I literally can't wait," Sirius grinned.

"I heard that Imane Zoubiri is really good, apparently the bookers are on Algeria winning," Opal said.

"I had to avoid Ludo Bagman the other day, asking me to put down five hundred galleons, I don't think so." Peter shook his head. "I know a scammer when I see one."

"You have the eye for it."

"Cheers-" a crack cut them all off as someone apparated into the Potter's living room.

James took out his wand looking at everyone else who had done the same thing. "We're not expecting anyone are we?"

No one answered, but they could hear a soft cry, James cautiously took charge, Sirius followed close behind then Opal.

He stopped at the door, poking his head through the gap. His brows contorted into a frown. "Marley?"

"I didn't know where to go." she whispered, tears streamed down her face.

Opal brushed past James and Sirius. "Marlene, what happened?"

"I told my parents," she said, "About- about me and Cas- I thought it would- I thought they would be okay- but they-"

Opal knelt down in front of her friend. "Did they hurt you-"

"No, no but my dad- he kicked me- he kicked me out-" she cried, "I don't know what to do?"

"Do you want me to get Cas?" Opal asked.

"No, I don't want her to know-"

"Marley-"

"Opal, please I don't want her to know."

Opal nodded. "Okay, I won't tell her, but you will need to at some point."

Marlene sniffed, wiping more tears from her face.

"Marls you can stay here, we have more than enough bedrooms-" James started.

"I don't want to impose-"

He shook his head, furiously. "I'm not having you sleeping on the streets, Marley. You have a place here."

"Thank you-"

The fireplace began to spark up with green smoke, Henry, Liam and Sammy McKinnon filed into the living room.

"Marlene! Mum and Dad were bang out of order!" Liam boomed, Sammy and Henry nodded.

"You should have seen the look on their faces when Lee shouted at them," Henry said.

"You don't hate me?" Marlene asked in a small voice.

"Fuck off do we hate you." Liam said he was red with anger. "Marls, you're our sister, and they are both fucking idiots."

"Plus, we love Dorcas," Sammy said, jumping up to hug his older sister. "She helped me find the common room that one time, she's really nice."

Marlene smiled tearfully. "I don't want to go back there."

Liam nodded at his older sister. "Okay, but you know that we don't think of you any differently."

Marlene nodded. "Thank you, Liam."

He wrapped his arms around her. "Don't worry, when I'm seventeen I'll give them a piece of my mind."

"Just three more years to go," she said, rubbing his head. "I'm going to stay here for a bit, James is letting me stay."

Liam nodded. "Got any more rooms spare?" he grinned.

"Yeah, when you're seventeen." James shook head.

"Worth a try," Liam damned his fist.

"I like your effort."

The second Dorcas found out about what had happened she went straight to Potter Manor, making sure Marlene was okay, she was tempted to go to the McKinnon's and prove to them that nothing was wrong, but Marlene had refused. Despite Dorcas' effort.

James had jokingly said that he had a house full of Orphans, which in trueness it had actually become just that.

"Do you think James would get pissed off if we moved out?" Sirius asked her one morning before the Quidditch world cup, they had just woken up but decided they didn't want to leave their bed yet.

"Are you thinking about moving out?"

"Not me.... us.... together."

Opal smiled softly. "You want to move in together?"

"Well I mean, we technically live together and have done for around two-ish years now... longer if we include Hogwarts?" Sirius told her. "Remus and I have found a small flat above Zonko's in Hogsmeade. Two bedrooms, I told him he's welcome to the second one. His father is a little overbearing and he's already spoken to me about moving out."

She smiled. "I'd love to move in with you, Sirius, and Remus of course."

"Okay cool, because I may have already paid off the deposit and they're expecting us to move in in the next three weeks." he breathed out in relief. "Also it's got one of those serving hatch windows... you know from the kitchen into the living room, I've always wanted one of them."

"Always a surprise with you isn't there."

"Something you love about me right,"

"Eh, maybe."

Sirius furrowed his brows. "So what do you love about me?"

"You're very vain, you know that right?"

"Of course. What do you love about me?"

"Let me think..." she pretended to hum in concentration.

"My luscious hair? My amazing charm? Fantastic humour? Brilliant muscles?" he said, flexing them.

Opal looked at him, a trace of a smile on her lips as she spoke. "I love everything about you. You could have shit hair, terrible charm, dreadful humour and absolutely no muscles at all and I would still love you, Sirius."

"You wouldn't date me if I was bald."

"Yes I would,"

"Really?"

"Of course."

"So if I shaved my hair off tomorrow you'd be completely fine."

"Yeah... you wouldn't though."

"No I wouldn't." he let out a laugh.

"So... my turn, what do you love about me?"

"Your arse-"

"Sirius!"

"I'm kidding, well not really you do have a nice arse." he grinned. "I love your kindness. I love your affection. I love that your patient-"

Opal scoffed, "I'm not patient in the slightest-"

"You are with me. You always have been," he told her, stroking her hand with his thumb. "It's actually one of the first things I loved about you... and your arse."

"Stop talking about my arse, this is a very cute moment right now."

"If I must," he rolled his eyes, before kissing her temple. "I love you,"

She grinned. "I love you too,"
