"We have been waiting for this day as for about five millions years-"

"Padfoot you're being dramatic-"

"No I'm not Prongs, We've been waiting a long time for this."

"It would have been sooner, but you postponed it."

"Opal, we literally thought you were dead,"

"Okay? You've been waiting to go on a date with Lily for years, if I'm dead, I'm dead. No time for mourning, get on with your lives-"

"I just want to say if I ever die, I want all of you to mourn for at least three centuries." Peter said.

"Seven for me," Sirius added.

"I will not be mourning any of you." Remus rolled his eyes, going back to his book.

"Guys do I look okay?" James asked, facing away from the mirror with a nervous look. Opal stood up and tried to flatten his hair down.

"Uncle Fleamont made Sleekeezys hair potion for a reason," she sighed.

"I've already tried it but it looked terrible-"

"Is that what you're wearing?" Peter questioned, screwing his face.

"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

"Ignore Pete, he's being a dickhead-"

"Rude,"

"You look fine James-"

"I mean, I wouldn't personally wear that-"

"What?!"

Peter and Remus shook their heads at Sirius.

"James, you look fine, ignore them, they're all taking the piss." Opal told him.

"I mean-"

"Remus, shush."

"James! Lily's ready for you!" Marlene shouted up the staircase.

James let out a deep breath. "Okay. I can do this."

The Marauders grinned at him.

"Come on, you can't leave Evans waiting," Sirius said, pushing him out of the dorm.

As the five made their way down they saw Lily, waiting by the sofa next to the girls.

Dorcas nudged her, making her turn around, her eyes lit up. "Potter."

It was as if another person had taken over him, he was no longer the nervous wreck he was moments ago. "Evans." he grinned.

Mary squealed. "I can't believe this is actually happening!"

"We should get a picture to commemorate this long awaited date." Sirius said.

"You guys are ruining a perfect moment." James sighed.

"Say cheese!" Marlene said, already holding a camera.

Lily sighed, taking James' arm, "Let's go before they get even more embarrassing-"

"And no spying on us, I've hidden the cloak," James said, as Lily dragged him out of the common room.

"Who would have thought it huh?" Peter shook his head.

"Not me. Not us, definitely not James." Marlene said.

Sirius clapped his hands together. "Okay so James is an idiot and he told me where he hides the cloak when he doesn't want anyone to use it so... who's down for a little spying?"
