5th June 1981Remus had been gone nearly three months with no word of when he would be back. It was hard for him to keep in contact whilst he was away. He didn't want to risk his cover.
"Ruby will be here in a second," Opal called out to Sirius from the living room as she got Sapphire dressed.
"Booby!" Sapphire said, raising her hands up, her black curly hair was able to be put into two bunches now, Opal always found it hard to believe she was a year and a half old now.
"Ruby," Opal corrected.
"Booby," Sapphire giggled.
The fireplace lit up, and Ruby walked out, wearing a swimming costume under her dress, and a sun hat which flopped over her eyes, making her have to extend her neck to look up at her sister.
"Hi Opie!"
"Hello, Rubes-" she tilted her head. "Why are you wearing that?"
"Sirius said we're going to the beach-"
"Ruby!" Sirius ran out of the room, he held a pair of swimming flippers in his grasp.
"Oh! I'm sorry! It was a secret, I wasn't supposed to tell you." she looked up at Sirius. "Did you tell her about James and Lily coming tomorrow?"
Sirius sighed, shaking his head.
"I don't think I was supposed to tell you that either." Ruby winced. "Sorry."
Sirius smiled at her and rubbed her head. "It was supposed to be a surprise, but there's no harm done." he said, scratching his neck, looking over at Opal. "We've been so stressed about the Order, so I thought we'd take a few days off. I did invite Pete as well, but his mother is ill."
Opal smiled, "It's still a surprise," she kissed him. "Thank you, Sirius."
"EW!" Ruby gagged, putting her hat over her face. "That is so gross, you're like forty!"
Opal gasped. "I am only fourteen years older than you!"
"That's ancient."
"I have never been so insulted in my life," Sirius said, putting his hand on his chest, buckling down.
"Hate to break it to you." Ruby shrugged, walking into the kitchen. "Do you guys have any snacks?"
The two looked at each other with the same shocked expression.
"When did she get so cheeky?" Sirius asked.
"No idea."
"She gets it from you,"
Opal began to protest but backed down, "Yeah. Yeah, she does."

Sirius had rented out a small cottage a five-minute walk away from the water, it was very quaint, it reminded her of a smaller version of Potter manor. It was very homely and smelt like vanilla and sea salt.
"You can see the sea!" Ruby exclaimed, climbing onto the sofa and pressed her face against the glass window.
Opal made them all sandwiches to take onto the beach before they walked down.
The sky was bright blue, not a single cloud in the sky. The warm sun shone down on them, Sirius mentioned that Ted had told him it was going to be a sunny weekend, that's why he chose it.
"This looks like a good spot," Ruby told them, pointing at a patch of sand. Sirius lay out the blanket for them as Opal got Sapphire in her swimming costume.
