Sirius kissed her before leaving the stairs, then Opal followed a few minutes later, remembering to pick up her broom when she went back up to the Gryffindor common room. She was hoping that everyone had forgotten about the kiss and there would be no questions asked.

"Opal! You kissed Sirius!" Dorcas exclaimed as she walked in, Opal sighed, laying down the broom on the sofa.

"It was nothing."

"Didn't look like nothing." Marlene commented, whilst looking at her nails.

"Well it was."

"James isn't happy." Mary said, nodding her head to the sofa's, he was sitting with his arms crossed, his face full of anger.

"Madam Pomfrey fixed his arm quickly, what happened?" Opal asked, looking at him but he turned away from her.

"Well after you flew away, he got really angry and shouted at Sirius." Lily said. "I reckon he would have punched him if his arm wasn't broken."

"What?"

The girls nodded in response, Opal walked over, standing opposite him. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." James snapped, not looking at her.

"Nothing? James we scored over nine hundred points, we've never done that-"

"Why didn't you tell me? I assume he's the one you have a crush on." he said, finally making eye contact with her.

Opal paused before speaking. "I only just found out that it was him, I didn't know last week-"

"We tell each other everything, and you didn't tell me that you kissed our best friend!"

"Why are you so angry?"

"Because it's Sirius!" he shouted, standing up in front of her, the common room became quiet listening in on the conversation. "He's dated so many girls, and he's probably kissed every single girl in this damn school and you've gone and done the same."

"So what if I have. What is it to you!"

"I thought you were different!"

Opal took a step back, angrily shaking her head.

"You're a fucking prick!" she shouted, storming up to the girls dorm.

"James-" Sirius started walking towards him.

"Piss off Sirius."

James Potter was stubborn.

Opal knew this from a young age, if he didn't want to speak to you then he could go months without uttering a word to you. He hadn't spoken to Opal and Sirius for almost two weeks, and he wasn't planning on changing that.

"You know what, maybe this is for the best." Lily said, the two girls were sitting in the great hall finishing up their homework.

"None of us are talking to each other." Opal said, writing down stars for astronomy.

"Yeah... but Potter hasn't flirted with me for-" She checked her wrist. "One week, six days and eight hours, I'm at peace."

"I'm glad to know you're happy." Opal replied, rolling her eyes.

"It was just a stupid kiss, why is he taking it so hard?"

"I have no idea." she said, putting down her quill. "He thinks just because he's my best friend I have to tell him everything, like he tells me everything... which he does,"
