23rd July 1981

Remus finally came back after nearly five long months away from the group, but he had got back extremely late, they had only managed a small conversation before they went to bed.

Opal lay awake, listening to the sound of the morning birds chirping, she looked over at Sirius, he was staring up at the ceiling with a smile on his face.

"What's on your mind?" she asked.

"Just thinking about what Pete said on New Years... what our life will be like when the war is over."

Opal smiled softly, picking up his hand. "We're going to a substantial sized house with a humungous garden everyone can play Quidditch,"

"Near the sea?"

She nodded. "Near the sea, so we can take Saph and Harry every weekend because we're obviously going to live right next to James and Lily,"

"We'll have a room for Ruby- which she can decorate herself with her elaborate idea's," he grinned.

"We'll have three floors-"

"Two, I still have a stitch from the staircases at school,"

"Two, then," she smiled, kissing the top of his shoulder. "And we'll get married-"

"Let's do it today."

Opal paused looking up at him, he propped himself up. "Let's get married today,"

"Sirius we can't get married today-"

"Why not? Remus is back, he must still have the licence from James and Lily's wedding-"

"I don't have a dress-"

"I would marry you if you were wearing a bin bag-"

"Sirius," she said, giving him a look.

"I know we said after the war," he told her, brushing aside her hair. "But we have no idea when this will be over. It will be small, just us the boys and the girls and Ruby of course,"

"You mean this?"

"With all my heart, Opal."

"Oh my god, we're getting married today!" She jumped up from the bed.

"Yes we are!" Sirius said, kissing the top of her head. "I'm going to tell Remus- and then ask him if he'll marry us."

He ran out of the room and into Remus'. Opal made her way to the fireplace, making a call to Potter manor.

Lily's head popped up into the flames. "Morning Opes, you're up early." she said, taking a bite of her toast.

"Are you with James?"

"Yeah, I'm just feeding Harry," he called out from the background.

"What are you doing tonight? Say five or six?"

"Probably eating dinner, why?"

"You might want to skip dinner... Sirius and I are getting married!"

There was a loud crash, then a crack from behind her. As she turned around James stood in front of her.

"YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED?"

"Thanks James, just leave your son in the middle of feeding him."

"YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED?" James repeated. "TONIGHT?"

She nodded. "Yeah, we planned it about three minutes ago."

"You're getting married," he teared up, pulling her into a hug. "I am so happy for you,"
