19th March 1979

Every Sunday Opal would wake up before the sun came up, she'd quietly get ready, careful not to disturb Sirius' sleep. She'd leave the flat making her way down to a flower stall setting up for the day, the elderly witch would always let Opal buy a bunch before she was fully opened.

She would always buy the tulips.

They were her mother's favourites.

At Godric's Hollow graveyard, Opal would always walk past the same graves, sometimes she would even see the same families sitting by their family members' graves. There was one man who sobbed at different graves every single week. It was a very awkward moment for the two when she caught him crying at her sisters.

She stopped at the three gravestones, her mother's and Emerald's had a small gem, respecting their names above them, charmed so they couldn't be stolen of course.

She placed a flower on each, kneeling down and smiling softly.

She thought about bringing Ruby one day, but she thought she might be a little too young to be hanging around gravestones.

Opal began talking about her week, knowing she wouldn't get a response. Which she never expected anyway.

"I have big news for you all today, our James is getting married today," she said, "Who would have thought it, huh? I don't even think he expected it, if I'm being honest. Lily proposed to him like she said she would. He cried, of course." she grinned at the memory. "I wish you could be there today,"

Nothing.

Just a mourning dove cooing in the distance as usual.

"Ruby's gotten big. She's almost five, has a mind of her own now, pretty sure she's a terror for Bill and Charlie, I'll bring her to see you one day, not yet though. She's still a bit young."

She listened to the wind and the dove a little bit longer until she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Hello, love." Sirius said, kissing her temple.

"Hey," she said, softly.

"Ready?" he asked.

"Yeah," she nodded, standing up, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Talk much?"

"Oh yeah, they carried the conversation, I practically didn't say anything," she smiled as they walked away from the graves.

"Thought as much,"

"Have you seen James yet?"

"Yup, he's having a crisis." he chuckled.

"Thought as much. Good luck with him."

"What do you mean?"

"Oh, I'm getting ready with the girls, and Lily's been calm about the whole wedding process."

"So I'm the one that's stuck with James, he's your best friend."

Opal crossed her arms, looking up at him. "You've been adamant about him being your best friend for years,"

"Ugh, fine. But I guarantee Lily is doing worse than James."

"I doubt it."
