"Worms? Wormy? Pete? Peter?" Opal nudged him but he didn't respond. "Peter!"

"Huh?" he asked, looking at her.

"What's up?"

"Nothing, just tired."

Opal furrowed her brows, but couldn't ask before Professor McGonagall walked past their table. "Do you have the notes?"

He nodded, handing them to her, then leant back down, resting his head on his arms. She tilted her head.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing."

"Worms-" Opal began but was cut off.

"Miss Wings, please get on with your work."

She slumped back in her seat, when the bell rang Peter picked up all his stuff and left before Opal had even got a chance to speak.

"What's up with him?" Remus asked as she walked to the boys.

She shrugged. "I asked, but he didn't say anything."

"That's not like him."

The next morning Peter still hadn't cheered up despite James and Sirius using up all of their energy to do so.

"Nothing, he didn't even crack a smile." James said, defeated as he collapsed onto the sofa next to Remus.

"Opes, it's your turn." Sirius told her. "We've done our bit."

She stood up, "Wish me luck," she saluted, heading up to the boys dorm.

His curtain had been drawn over his bed, she pulled it aside, poking her head through.

"Can't any of you leave me alone for like five minutes." he sighed.

"No. You've been friends with us for long enough to know better. What's wrong?"

"I told all of you it's nothing,"

"It's not nothing if you're moping in your bed."

"I'm not moping in my bed." he said, moping in his bed.

"You're not?"

"No, I'm... shut up Opal."

She took a seat on the bed, prodding his shoulder. "Tell me, please?"

"It's nothing,"

"Peter Pettigrew you have five seconds to tell me before I hug you-"

He pointed at her. "Don't you dare."

She leaned over to him. "Tell me... right that's it-"

"Okay! Okay!" Peter said, moving away from her. "Stop trying to hug me, you creep."

Opal put her hand on her heart, "That was so rude. Now what's wrong?"

He mumbled something.

"I didn't catch that."

"Clarisse broke up with me."

"...Clarisse? The girl from Beauxbatons?"

He nodded.

"Oh, Pete," she said sorrowfully, "I'm gonna hug you now-"

"No. No, Opal I will kill you- ugh I hate you." he protested but she didn't listen as she wrapped her arms around him.

"I know you love me really."

The door opened and Sirius cleared his throat. "My girlfriend and my best friend, how could you do this to me? The betrayal."
