Fifth years had almost finished all of their exams, the only one Opal had left was DADA, she had been in the library the entire morning with Dorcas.

"Ready for the defence exam?" Lily asked, walking up to the girls fifteen minutes before their exam started.

"No!" Opal said, stressfully flicking through her Defence Against Exams book. "I can't find the spell to get rid of boggarts."

"It's riddikulus."

"I know it's ridiculous, Lily, we learnt it back in third year. I can't remember the spell." Opal snapped.

"No, the spell. You say riddikulus." Lily said, glaring at Opal.

"Oh, thanks." she replied, writing it down on her parchment.

Dorcas looked up at the clock. "We should head down to the Great hall, so we're not late."

The three girls nodded, meeting Marlene and Mary in the entrance hall.
"This is the last exam, thank Merlin." Marlene said, resting her head on Dorcas' shoulder.

"Lucky, I still have arithmancy to do." Mary complained.

"We told you not to take that class." Opal said, leaning back against the wall, in the distance she saw the other Marauders walking up to them, Peter had a massive grin on his face. "Why are you so cheerful?"

"I can't tell you yet."

Opal gave him a weird look but shrugged as the doors opened, the four tables had been replaced with a hundred smaller desks facing the large board with a timer.

'DEFENCE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS- ORDINARY WIZARDING LEVEL'

Opal took her seat behind Sirius, he didn't say anything to her as she sat down, they still hadn't spoken much since the round of hide and seek.

Professor Flitwick stood at the front of the hall on a pile of books. "Please write your name on top of your paper then begin."

The sound of paper rusting is all Opal heard for the next two hours, along with the gnawing of Peter biting his nails.

Towards the end of the exam she looked towards Sirius, he was swinging on his chair giving James a thumbs up. Opal looked down at the last question.

What is the boggart-banishing spell?

She smiled as she wrote down the answer, remembering what Lily had told her it was.

"Quills down please!" Professor Flitwick spoke up, he summoned the papers and dismissed the students out of the hall.

"Did you like question ten, Moony?" Sirius asked, as the girls laughed behind them.

"Loved it." Remus said. "Give five signs that identify a werewolf. Excellent question."

"Do you think you managed to get all the signs?" James asked mockingly.

"Don't think I did." Opal said, sarcastically.

"Think I did." Remus said he counted on his fingers as they made their way outside. "One: he's sitting on my chair. Two: he's wearing my clothes. Three: his names Remus Lupin."

"You forgot number four." Opal said. "He always steals chocolate."

Remus rolled his eyes. "It was one time, Blaze."

"I really needed it that day." she sulked, the Marauders made their way towards a tree setting down, still conversing over the exam as James pulled out a snitch he had 'nicked'.

"Ugh, I'm bored." Sirius said, leaning back against the tree. "Wish it was a full moon."

"You might." Remus glared.
