CHAPTER 8

The spiritual power had great power and it fed energy throughout the body and soul, but once it was transferred to another...it was impossible to transfere it back. The golden power rejects the power as if it was poison being excreted out of the body, but it would accept any power which was being transferred as long as it was not evil or full of resentment.

Wei Ying was very confused as to why it didn't work, he had originally thought that since the transfere was successful he and Lan Zhan would be able to transfere their energies to each other but he missed something. Indeed he and Lan Zhan were to heal each other and transfere spiritual energies to each other only...and only if first...they accepted each other to be soulmates and second...Wei Ying's spiritual energy was locked by the Gods an even the core transfere could not change that. His golden core was running normally but it was not feeding his spiritual power the energy it needs to heal or cast out unwanted forces from his body, this meant that it would only work as a result of casting evil away from only his soul and not the entire body.

Be was in a critical situation, but since the evil spirits already knew that and saw that the soulmate bond had merged they still didn't know that one of them was still holding back and not in love with the other like he should have after their contact. He was safe but only if the evil spirits did not try to attack him because if they did they would realise he was not as powerful as he should be, both Lan Zhan and Wei Ying didn't know that. The Gods were became very patient since they saw that they did not reject each other's connection but because of the one who was still holding back his feelings for another, they thought of a plan to do so and it was a plan that would only implemented over the years. With that being said...Wei Ying was to live in a safe environment until the time was right to reveal their plan.

The Gods had delivered their message to Lan Xichen and after a few almost an hour of meditation he woke up. He looked to where he last saw the boys thinking that they must be sleeping, resting from the tiring core transfere but was surprised they were not there. His ears were still ringing from the whispers when the Gods were delivering their message and he did not hear Wei Ying's panick shouts calling out Lan Zhan. Lan Xichen stood up and went to the small dining area and he was shocked to find Lan Zhan lying unconscious on the floor and Wei Ying crying while calling his name. He hurried to his side and asked what had happened but Wei Ying could not even hear anything else because what he only wanted to see Lan Zhan opening his eyes. But Lan Xichen kept asking.

"Wei Ying! What happened?" " '...' " Wei Ying! Why is Lan Zhan lying in the floor like this what happened to him? Wei Ying answer me!!" This woke Wei Ying up and he looked at him  and said " it...it didn't work...why..I did everything the right way– and..and he's still not waking up" Wei Ying cried his soul out silently and only tears were seen by Lan Xichen as he tried to make sense of what he was talking about. He saw that it was not enough to ask and not do anything so he took Lan Zhan from Wei Ying's hold and sat him down, he took one of his arms and transferred his spiritual energy to him through his wrist. He didn't want to transfere it directly to his head to tap his consciousness back back because he not had a soulmate and it would be inappropriate cause it means he might accidentally read his mind.

Wei Ying kept on looking at Lan Zhan, he now saw how handsome he was, his long lashes, thick eyebrows and pale skin were what he had never seen before while roaming the streets from the past few months. He snapped out of his thoughts when he saw Lan Zhan stirr in his deep sleep and he slightly opened his eyes and his gaze locked with Wei Ying's and a light smile appeared seeing Wei Ying was awake and okay. Lan Xichen blinked trying to confirm that what he saw was a smile on Lan Zhan's face,that he didn't see wrong but before he could Lan Zhan lost consciousness. Lan Xichen looked at Wei Ying and said " don't worry, the poison is out right now he's just sleeping. He must be tired". Lan Xichen's face was angelic with his kind smile and that made Wei Ying more comfortable.

Lan Xichen held Lan Zhan and went to lay him on the bed and covered him with a quilt, when he turned around he saw Wei Ying standing beside him smiling with eyes full of fondness. He asked " Wei Ying..! Are you okay?" " Oh yes I'm fine, I was just looking at the way you take care of your brother, you trully love him and it's not difficult to tell" Wei Ying smiled and sat down on the couch near the bed and continued " I don't have any siblings so I do not know how it's like. I'm sorry for ramblimg, I forgot to thoroughly introduce myself. My nam–.." "  I know who you are Wei Ying, I may not know everything about you but I do know you because of my brother. I was the only one he could share things about you before you met and I am the one who should introduce myself. My name is Lan Xichen from Gusu Lan clan, I'm honoured to finally meet you " Lan Xichen completed with a smile and a bow to show respect to the chosen one and the soulmate bond he shared with his brother.

" Lan Xichen please don't bow to me, I feel very uncomfortable when people do that. Please treat me as you treat your desciples and I won't mind" " Wei Ying...what are you saying...how can I treat you as a desciple when you already obtained your older spiritual self, technically...you're older than me. The least I can do is treat you like I treat my brother. Is that ok with you" Lan Xichen asked Wei Ying who's face instantly lit up and gave a smile that looked like his mother's.
