CHAPTER 69

Wei Ying woke up late since he was too worried to fall asleep, he didn't understand why Jiang Cheng was the way he was the night before. But he let it go and thought he said those things because he was worried when he didn't come back till late. His eys6sboit out when he remembered that he had studies to attend but the sun was so hot and reminding him that time had already passed for him to go to classes. He woke up abruptly and headed to the washroom and quickly freshened up and changed into his assigned white robes and ran out of the guest house.

Lucky for him, not everyone was there yet, he looked for Jiang Cheng who was standimg with some students not very far from were he was and went to him. " Jiang Cheng...why didn't you wake me up this morning? I was almost late because of you." He looked at the students and greeted them after apologizing for his ride behaviour of not greeting them first. Jiang Cheng dragged him to the other end of the room and said " Wei Wuxian, didn't I say not to embarass us Jiang clan? Why are you making noise? Anyway...just do what you came here to do and forget about making friends alright? Now go sit down!"

" Jiang Cheng..." Jiang Cheng ignored him and went to sit between the two students he was with so that Wei Ying doesn't sit next to him. Wei Ying became worried that Jiang Cheng hasn't forgiven him yet for coming back late. He watched him go and sit between two students and be sighed. Knowing very well that he was avoiding him, he looked for a seat and sat down when a student who looked to be the same age as Jiang Cheng came sat next to him. But unknown to Wei Ying that someone was watching and listening to his conversation with Jiang Cheng. That someone saw something very odd in the way Jiang Cheng behaved and Wei Ying reacted, and that person kept on watching.

" Hi...I'm Nie Huisang from Nie clan, I hope you don't mind if I sit next to you?" " Oh no, not at all. I'm Wei Wuxian by the way, pleased to meet you." They nodded to each other with smiles and a conversation started from there. Lan Qiren came in class with Lan Xichen, Lan Qiren sat behind a desk while Lan Qiren stood up next to his uncle and looked at everyone present there. A few minutes later Lan Zhan came aswell and he walked to the front and sat in a front row seat in his reserved seat. Wei Ying looked at Lan Zhan as he walked to the front elegantly and he wasn't even aware that he was smiling while melting looking at Lan Zhan when Nie Huisang bumped on his shoulder with his.

" Wei-xiong... you're drooling...ha..ha..ha" Nie Huisang laughed as he saw Wei Ying panick and wipe his mouth and found out he was actually being teased. " Nie-xiong...are you teasing me? Nice." Nie Huisang continued to laugh and Wei Ying just chuckled and shook his head. Class began and they concerntrated on their studies, well atleast everyone else was, but not Wei Ying. He was busy looking at Lan Zhan who sat like a master with his back straight and his hands to his front as he listened to his uncle. He had already learned what they studies so he was only there to help out by clearifying the answers, he  couldn't see Wei Ying who was gawking at him like he was a lollipop.

Wei Ying started playing while Lan Qiren read all the Lan clan rules to the new students and they were a lot. He walked up and down the isle between two rows and kept in reciting Lan clan rules when he heard some whispering. He turned around and found everyone on their seats with no sign to show who was whispering and interupting. He continued to walk forward amd Wei Ying stuck a paper with a drawing of a tortoise, the giggled to each other and when Lan Zhan saw the paper. He used his spiritual energy to remove the paper behind his uncle before he could realise and squashed it.

He turned his head back at the one who did it and found himself face to face with Wei Ying. He had actually not seen him as he enterd, and now here was Wei Ying pranking his uncle. He was happy but upset at Wei Ying for doing something like that to a senior. He looked at the front trying to get his mind off Wei Ying who looked charming and beautiful in white his robes,smiling with a tint of pink blush as he they looked at each other. Lan Zhan tried to keep himself calm before he felt vitctim to those big dark orbs and plump lips that had a timy mole on the bottom lip . Lan Xichen was watching everything and smiled to himself at Wei Ying's naughtiness, he now knew his Wangjibwas going to have his hands full with his soulmate.

There wasn't a need to do or say anything, because when Wei Ying and Lan Zhan locked eyes, be could see that Lan Zhan wasn't happy about what he had done. There was something about Lan Zhan's eyes when he was unhappy or angry about something, his aura changed and even though he didn't hold any expressions, it was more than enough to put him down. It was like his eyes were scolding him and he blushed for no reason as his heart was happy to see him again but his mind was explaining what Lan Zhan's gaze meant. He forgot himself for a few seconds.

Lan Qiren turned around and saw him looking at Lan Zhan and he thought he was one of those who were charmed by his nephew's handsomeness that they didn't come for studies but to see the famous Second  Childe Lan. He called Wei Ying's name out and asked him a few questions just to make sure he was paying attention. Wei Ying answered them correctly, but then he asked a question concerning ghosts, evil spirits and zombies. Wei Ying's answers were exellent and Lan Qiren saw that he was indeed listening, but he shot a question that made everyone want to turn their book pages around but Lan Qiren stopped them.

He told them to think for an answer themselves and now Jin Zixuan who was looking at Wei Ying, scoffing at him for not being able to answer the question he was asked. Lan Qiren asked Lan Zhan to answer the question, there was no need to do that but he did it so that to brag to the students how knowledgable his nephew was and that no one could outsmart him. After Lan Zhan answered the question Lan Qiren scoffed at Wei Ying for acting smart and not paying attention to class. He was so surprised when Wei Ying's mind came back to him after thinking about the question he previously asked.
