" Xiongzhang...do you know what happened that morning" " No...uncle had told me after that he had punished mother because it's against the rules to end a life. I didn't know what that punishment was until...until...(*sigh*) Wanji...let's not dwell on the past, you have a huge responsibility ahead of you and you still need to focus on your soulmate so you could complete your assigned task. Don't think about that past 好的 hâo ba (*ok*)... Lan Zhan nodded and Lan Xichen stood up walking to the door " Xiongzhang...she was saving me....that morning...mother was saving me" Lan Xichen gasped and widened his eyes, after a few seconds he composed himself and said " Wanji...do you realise what you just said?" Lan Zhan nodded and looked at his brother,seeing the horror in his face.

" What I was told is different from what you just said, did you see it for yourself? We're you right there with her? 不，算了 Bù suànle..(*no, forget it*) Wanji, I do not want you to resent anyone for what had happened to mother, 你听到我了吗Nǐ tīng dào wǒle ma (*do you hear me*)". " Xiongzhang–.." " No Wanji...you will do as I just said, I cannot loose you too...you must focus on what you have to do and protect Wei Ying and I will do everything I can to protect my Didi. That's final...please forgive me if I sounded like I was scolding you, but do you have any idea what all this is doing to me...loosing our mother for saving her son, loosing father for saving mother...what's next...I cannot loose you Wanji. Please take promise me you will take care of yourself and that you will stand up to yourself if a time tries to bully you...I almost lost you Wanji, if it weren't for the Gods...I would have lost you back then with Su She. Do you know how we found you...?

MINI FLASHBACK...

The elders told a desciple to go and call other few desciples to come help then with Lan Zhan. They didn't know the state Lan Zhan was in but it was safe to say that he was brutally injured. Lan Xichen's class had just ended and he was coming out of his class when he saw the five desciples running. His chest tightened and with a heavy breath be asked " excuse me...what is the emergency that makes you run like that, if uncle sees you you know you won't be spare–"  " I'm sorry Lan Xichen" they quickly bowed but seemed like they were in a rush even when they stood there waiting for Lan Xichen for release them

" What is it..? Why does your faces look like that...? What happened?" " Lan Xichen...The elders ha e instructed us to come to the cold pond to help them, we don't know anything else." " The cold pond...? Why there? " Lan Xichen felt a stab in his heartbeat elevated and he staggered a little when the desciples quickly caught him before falling down and asked " Lan Xichen...你还好吗..Nǐ hái hǎo ma (* are you okay*) " " 是的…是的，我还好..Shì de…shì de, wǒ hái hǎo ( yes...yes, I'm ok) he stood straight and with a heavy breath he said " you can go" the desciples looked worried for a second but what they were called for sounded really urgent so..they hurried towards the cold pond.

Lan Xichen stood there trying to make sense of how he was feeling and when a few students passed by him "...yes it was Su She.." one student said " how can he go to that extent of harming him" the second studen said and the first one continued " I know he hated him because he's better than him... how can he, when he's busy focusing on other students..." Lan Xichen felt like his breath left his lungs. He knew who they were talking about, they didn't say the name of the other student, but he knew...it was his Wanji. He carried his heavy legs and started running towards the cold pond rushing through and bumping into other students, he ran and even when one elder who was his teacher called his name he kept on running.

When he arrived at the cold pond he saw the elders and the desciples in panick and some of the desciples were wet like they had already went into the cold water. The elders were busy panicking while one of the scolded the desciples to him, he didn't know who they meant to help until he saw his uncle come out of the cold water. The elders were so relieved but there was something missing...his Dìdì was nowhere to be seen, he ran down the dirt path down to the cold pond where others were and stood by the edge of the pond and asked without looking at them. " Uncle...where's Wanji..." Fear could be seen in his eyes when tears started to form crystals in the corners of his eyes and no one spoke.

The silence was too much for him when he whipped his head and looked at them, his uncle had a look that he had never seen before nor decipher. " Xichen...we tried but we can't see him in there...it's too dark to see beneath the wat–.... Xichen!!!" Lan Qiren cut his sentence and his body froze when he saw Lan Xichen dive into the freezing cold water. He also was still young to be in the cold waters but he didn't have any choice of saving his beloved Didi. The desciples caught Lan Qiren before a step further to save Lan Xichen, he called out his name but Lan Xichen didn't come out. He felt weak on his knees and lungged down forward to break free but he was weakened by his painful and sad emotions. He didn't speak nor blink his eyes, he just staredst the cold water not believing that he lost his nephews, his entire family was now gone, he felt weak and sick.

When Lan Xichen plunged into the cold water he closed his eyes trying to focus on his energy, he didn't have powers like Lan Zhan and Wei Ying, but he had powers that were only there for playing healing and calming music. He channeled that very same power to keep himself from being frozen, it was not much power but it was enough to make his insides not to freeze, but it didn't prevent him from being cold. He floated withing the water and looked at the bottom of the pond, just then...he saw a faint blue light beneath him at the bottom of the pond. He dived down deeper and the light got bright as he went until he saw white robes being waved by the spring beneath the ground.

He dived down a little more and he saw that it was his Wanji, he grabbed him and tried to swim up...but Lan Zhan was heavy, too heavy for a body his size. Then it hit him...Lan Zhan had frozen and even though his skin felt normal he concluded that his frozen insides were indeed adding to his weight. He grabbed him by the helm of his robes and pulled him along with him as he swam up to the surface. He managed to reach the surface and the last thing he remembered was a hand grabbing him and a weight on his other hand which was holding Lan Zhan lightened, before he passed out.
