Lan Zhan had never cried when his father passed on, not even when his mother passed on, but here he was...standing in the middle of the big cave, all alone and crying his heart out. He felt like his heart had been ripped out and squeezed then put back into his chest again. The feeling he had was hard for him to understand, being the chosen one as he was...he didn't understand what that feeling was. A feeling that could make a powerful man like being like him break down for someone he didn't even know. But unknown to him that he had already met the green spirit before in his life, he didn't know it because he was occupied by certain happenings back then but was linked to the spirit in more ways than one.

Lan Zhan first met the green spirit for the first time when he was injured and his spirit was sucked into the spiritual realm, and had helped him cultivate. It appeared again everytime he was asking the spirits about Wei Ying, it was the last spirit to appear and the last spirit to return to the spiritual realm. It had also risked its soul source by telling Lan Zhan what was forbidden, that Wei Ying was totally fine. But that was not the first time they have met, they have met when Lan Zhan was still an infant, yes...the day Lan Zhan was born two people came to help Lan Furen and her baby and was having difficulties to give birth. Baoshan Sanren had used three powers to help her.

First, the blue power, second, the red power and last being the green power. The green power was Baoshan Sanren's own power source that came from her power core which was running his golden core and spiritual power. But make no mistake...Baoshan Sanren was not the green spirit. She had a daughter to which she shared her power core with from the day she gave birth her, Cangse Sanren. Yes...Wei Ying's mother was the green spirit. When Lan Zhan first came to the spirit realm, his physical body was injured, the Gods thought it was best if they brought him to the spirit realm to continue his training which he won't be doing physically since he would be in bed for while.

It welcomed him when he entered and it was the one which guided him through his whole training, but when the green spirit first appeared to Lan Zhan in the spirit realm, it had told him that it doesn't need to introduce itself because it would seem like it wanted some favours or simply lying for the sake of gaining something, when in reality Changse's spirit didn't want to intervene in their love life, matters of the heart are better left for the heart it hold. Changse's spirit was in its last task and was to be shown the path which led to the reincarnation path, but sadly... because it told what it had sworn not to, it's path was to be started from the beginning as punishment.

Wei Changze had already been reincarnated several years ago, but Cangse had remained behind, sabotaging its own rebirth' for only one reason. To see his two sons in their journey, she knew she would forget about them if she was to cross over, she didn't want that and her soul would ache everytime time came closer for her to leave. She was told after she had trained Lan Zhan that her path was then opened for her to pass through, and she was told to never go far or she would miss her chance and her path would not open until she was to start over again to take in tasks. She knew it would take year for the good deeds to be accumulated and she had all the time in the spirit realm of that.

Lan Zhan had played his Wangji'and it appeared every night for seven months which made it to miss the destined time to see the path. It had appeared later the first time because it had seen the path and because it still didn't want to go, it chose to go to the calling as Lan called over all the spirit to gather si he would be able to ask. It left on purpose and because it had done it many times, it's spirit was getting weaker by the day because it has already spent so much time spiritual realm. A soul would perish if it was to spend too much time in the spiritual realm. The reason why the green spirit never appeared anymore was that it's soul was leaving it's spiritual body and fading. If the soul was to fade then the spiritual body would also fade until there was nothing left.

Now here was Lan Zhan, crying his heart out as he finally understood why the green spirit did what it did, which was to watch both Lan Zhan and Wei Ying grow up into the capable men. She didn't regret the decisions she made as long as she was able to watch them everyday until the day her soul would perish. And that was the day, she had prolonged her reincarnation for her own reasons and who was to say she was selfish for making her husband wait for her on the other side, who was to blame her for all the things she had done in her mortal life aswell as her spiritual life?. She took the path she saw fit for herself, she was a mortal afterall.

At that moment where Lan Zhan was sobbing in the cave, alone and no one to comfort him, his physical body was bearing his spiritual emotions back in Cloud Rescessess under the peony tree. It was already midnight and Lan Xichen had gone looking for him at their mother's house, but he wasn't able to find him anywhere. He was so worried that something else might have happened to his Dìdì again and he feared the worst. That was until he decided to take the path towards the deserted path which no one used. He knew his brother was a private person and hoped to find him where no one would think of going.

He didn't call out his name, he was searching for him in silence as tears were streaming down his face unaware of his physical state of mind as his emotions took over. Then just as he was about to bring out all his emotions, he saw a figure in the dark right under the peony tree. The moon was playing hide and seek through the clouds and he thought his mind was playing tricks when the moon finally brightened for a second, allowing him to confirm if his eyes saw what it wanted to see. He slowly walked over towards the tree, holding his breath in, scared for the worst. When he reached the tree, he saw that it was indeed his Dìdì, but something was wrong. He was shaking and it seemed like his whole body was reacting to something which was not seen by him.
