CHAPTER 70

Lan Zhan was so surprised when Wei Ying's mind came back to him after thinking about the question he previously asked. He listened without looking back to Wei Ying. " I knew the answer but I was thinking about the fourth solution?" " What do you mean a fourth solution, there has never been a fourth solution ever, well...let's hear it then" Lan Qiren said " Well...you said the first solution is to ask and grant him a wish so he could rest, the second is to subdue the killer if the first solution was to fail and third you eradicate it if the first and second solutions didn't work but..."

" But what? " Lan Qiren asked Wei Ying curiously and furiously. "If the first option was to ask the ghost of a person who had killed amny people what his wishes were so his spirit could rest, then what if his wishes was to kill many more people?" " Then we subdue him" Lan Zhan answered " then if you fail to do so?" "We eradicate " Lan Zhan added. " Nxx...well...isn't that a waste? I mean if he had killed more than a hundred people unjustly then why would you want to grant him a wish? Wouldn't that be rewarding him for it? The fourth solution I think would be fair is to dig up the graves if the more than a hundred people he had killed and let him fight them.

If his wish was to kill people then why not the ones he had already killed?" " WEI YING! you cannot grant a killer a wish like that, and what do you mean dig up the graves..? that's the same as using evil to destroy evil because the people he had killed  already had resentment due to their unjust killings.There will be imbalance in the world! " " Grand Master Lan, what's wrong with using resentment energy is also energy, so why not use both energies to fight of the evil?" " There has never been such a despicable thoughts as those. How can you even think of something like that? "  Lan Qiren was furious.

When Lan Zhan heard Wei Ying's solution he whipped his head back and looked at him, he couldn't believe what Wei Ying had just said. He kept wondering if Wei Ying had an evil spirit inside him that  has taken over his body and spoke what he just said or was there another explanation. He looked at his brother who also seemed shocked and when Lan Xichen was trying to see what Lan Zhan thought about what was just said he found his Dìdì looking at him and was scared...very scared for his soulmate.

Lan Qiren's mist if anger got the best of him and he ordered Wei Ying out of his class to go and recite the Lan etiquettes in the library after throwing his hand fan at Wei Ying.  Lan Zhan somehow was relived that he wasn't whipped but instead punished that way. He heard his uncle call his name and say " Wangji!...gonand make sure he reads and recite them well and he mustn't come to my class if he's not finished"  Lan Zhan stood up and bowed to his uncle but before he could leave he liked at his brother who nod his head. That nodding wasn't for 'goodbye take care'but it was for 'please be easy on him ' and Lan Zhan nodded understanding very well what he meant by that.

Lan Zhan followed Wei Ying but couldn't see him, he went looking for him and found him at the back of the mountain with a young man from the Wen clan who came with Wen clan's younger son and other desciples. But their visit was not just for studies but for something else. Lan Zhan was so angry when he started belittling Lan clan all because his father held a higher position in all the clans , but when he looked at his brother for permission to do so Lan Xichen shook his head. Wei Ying was so furious that he defended the Lan clan from a spoiled brat who didn't have manners like Wen Chao.

Wei Ying talked back at the son of a powerful man,  Lan clan weren't in competition with anyone and tried not to be above or below anyone. Wei Ying had understood that without making too much effort, allowing all the clans bring their children to study for free in Clouds Rescessess to which they catered for their food and accommodation was more than enough for Wei Ying to realise. So when Lan Zhan found him with one of the members of the Wen clan he was upset, but he understood that Wei Ying was just trying to be friendly with the young boy.

He thought him and his sister didn't say anything wrong, infact they spoke to the elders with respect and the sister even went as far as cutting Wen Chao's sentence off.
She and he brother were at the lowest rank of the Wen clan which made everyone belittle them."Hey...nice shot, wow you're good at archery but you could be better. Oh! duì bù qî, wô jiào Wei Ying...nî me ? (Oh! sorry, my name is Wei Ying, and yours? What are you doing back here and not in class?" Wei Ying asked the boy " oh...wô Shi Wen Ning, and I'm still young, I haven't reached that age yet to study.

I'm here with my sister Wen Qing. She's the one who is studying" " is that so? Then why haven't I seen her in class today since you came yesterday? It's the first day of class and she didn't attend wow how brave?" The boy didn't answer then Wei Ying volunteered to help him adjust his posture for shooting an arrow. He touched his elbow and shoulder while adjusting and Lan Zhan got upset.He was watching them that whole time and he could hear what they were saying form the distance he was in, he didn't care since Wei Ying had said he didn't like men. But seeing him touch him awakened a feeling he didn't know he had, he hated the way Wei Ying touched him.

He thought ' he should be touching me and holding me like that, not someone else.' that feeling he didn't know of was jealousy and it errupted from inside his heart. He continued
to look and listen but then something else increased that feeling. His Wei Ying was talking to someone else, a young lady and sounded like he was flirting with her. The lady was Wen Qing, Wen Ning's sister and he had teased her by asking what she was doing behind the mountain or if she had purposefully followed him there.
