" Shijie...I'm tired...can't we rest for a while and have something to eat?" " a'Xian...we need to keep on going if we're to reach on time, didn't you have something to eat along the way..? Why do you wantto eat when you don't really eat that much?" " Shijie...I'm so tired, please have mercy on this weak young man aah.." A-Jie...is Wei Wuxian weak or he's just trying to make people pity him. Hey...Wei Wuxian...you want to drink wine you're not tired, by the way...since when are you tired? Come on let's go we need to get there before sundown..come on.."
The Jiang clan desciples were on their way to Cloud Rescessess for their studies, they had travelled by boat and when they reached Gusu and the smell of wine awakened the sleeping Wei Ying from his nap and therefore making trouble as they went. He had heard so many wine sellers taking about the emperor smile from Gusu and he just couldn't wait to try it, as always...his martial either saw right through his pretences as he too smelled a strong smell of wine alomg the river bank. They were to reach Gusu at noon but at that moment, Wei Ying's pace was much slower than a tortoise's making Jiang Cheng to scold him. Wei Ying was older than Jiang Cheng but he didn't think it was necessary for Jiang Cheng to address him as his senior because he thought they were way past that.
He was grateful that the Jiang family welcomed him, gave him a place to stay, gave him food to eat and also clothes to wear so it didn't matter if Jiang Cheng called him by name and nit formally. Jiang Yanli was the one who supported Wei Ying the most as he saw that her mother was abusing him physically and emotionally all the time, so she took it upon herself to erase her mother's bad words and beatings by spoiling Wei Ying. He had told her that he wasn't affected by it and that he was grateful that he had someone to scold him for doing something wrong, just like a parent would. He was indeed good in making everyone smile and laugh even when he was the one who was the most miserable.
They reached an Inn at the base of Gusu and since Wei Ying had insisted on resting then they would, even if she also knew he wanted to drink, as long as he was happy, that's all that mattered to Jiang Yanli. They went inside along with other desciples and they asked for rooms when the Inn keeper told then it was fully booked, as they stood there two women wearing nice robes with gold trimmings came in the Inn and asked the Inn keeper to put the packets they were carrying into their master's room for a decent smell and to repel mosquitos. Wei Ying watched then as they spoke, walked and tlhow they handled themselves and he knew they were from a prominent clan. He walked to them asking if it was possible to leave one room for them to rest since they came a long way.
The ladies were amazed by this since Wei Ying had already seen that they do not come from just any clan, why would he have the audacity to stop them and let alone speak to them. He knew his sister was tired even if she didn't show it and she needed her sleep since she was not a cultivator, she would get tired very easy. The ladies denied his request and he tried again by flirting and that time, the ladies were amazed by him that they even gave him one if the rooms. He went back to tell his shijie that she should go and rest so they would wake up very early the next morning to continue their journey.
They went up into one of the rooms and Jiang Yanli went to the bedroom which only contained one bed and looked around. He got back to the her brothers and told them to share the bedroom and she would sleep on the couch. Jiang Cheng refused and Wei Ying also didn't want that, so...he used his tricks to make her sleep in the bedroom. " Shijie...you know Jiang Cheng and I will be training as well as learning in Cloud Rescessess, so we need to practice our skills. Jiang Cheng said that Gusu Lan clan has the Twin Jades of Lan, I want to show them that Jiang also has Twin Jade's of Jiang clan. You rest...we are going to train,...Jiang Cheng...let's go"
They went out leaving Jiang Yanli smiling as he saw through Wei Ying's tricks, she knew Wei Ying pampered her and respected her the most which was why she spoiled him that much. She went to rest and the two boys went to the dining area m, Wei Ying ordered some wine while Jiang Cheng ordered tea. A few minutes later a group of people came wearing robes with gold trimmings and he knew it must be the master that the two ladies spoke about, he sat down surrounded by many desciples and helpers as the Inn keeper ran to take his orders and requests. He ordered the most expensive tea and she it was brought to him he barely had a sip before he knew the cup across the room.
" This tea is stale, why would you even think of bringing me this cheap tea? Do you even know who I am? Don't my attire tell you enough" "I'm sorry young master...but that is our most expensive tea and I just boiled the water and prepared it myself and brought it to you." " What...are you saying I'm lying about your tea being stale?... Luó guniang...drink this tea and tell if I'm lying" the lady who met Wei Ying earlier stepped forward and poured herself tea and sipped on it. She sipped until the tea in her cupnwas finished and she had a smile on her face. The young master looked up at her and she got a little frightened and said " young master ...the tea is not to your liking, I will have the Inn keeper change it for you"
She backed up quickly before he asked him if he was lying because she couldn't lie about the tea, it was the best tea she had ever tasted and yet her young master said it's stale. She was about to go when Jin Zixuan stopped her and told her to bring his room. They went upstairs and when they reached a certain room he asked " why is this room closed..? Is there anyone in there? Didn't I tell you to book the entire Inn because I want to rest and don't need to be disturbed? " " I'm sorry young master, there were already people who we found here first and we though it was rude to make them leave since they got here first. ". " What..? Luó guniang...你是什么意思 Nǐ shì shénme yìsi (*what do you mean*)?
Did you really go against my orders? " Just then...the door to the said room opened as the occupant heard voices coming from right outside the room.
