Lan Zhan made it clear to the moles in the spiritual realm that he would eliminate them and after that, he walked away, taking a path to the mountains. He reached the bottom of the mountain and sat down on a huge stone. He closed his eyes and started meditating, in a few seconds he was back in Cloud Rescessess under the peony tree. His spirit connected to its body once again, it wasn't hard to do that but long training was required to reach that level of traveling between realms and he was a master in it. When he opened his eyes he saw that the sun was already on it's way, peaking through the mountains in Cloud Rescessess before greeted everyone else.
He looked around and heard his brother's melody which he usually played for him, his felt that his Liebieng' was playing softly and closer. He stood up and liked behind him, he saw that his brother sat a little further away from him on a rock. We walked towards him Lan Xichen stopped playing and opened his eyes which were closed all that time, then he came face to face with his Dìdì who was just a few inches away from him. At first he thought he was dreaming until Lan Zhan spoke
" Xiongzhang..." Then a bow. " Wangji, I was so worried about you, you have been meditating for hours and when I found you, you were crying. Unwanted to bring you out but feared I would harm you. We're you in the spiritual realm...?"
Lan Zhan looked at him and he looked to the ground, making Lan Xichen to confirm his suspicions. " Wangji...you don't have to say much, just know that I am here if you need to talk, ok? Now let's go, you need rest and so do I. I need to tell uncle that we won't be attending today's preparation training, let's go. " The two brothers walked together and only separated when Lan Xichen had to go find his uncle in the hall and Lan Zhan walked inside their home. Lan Zhan opened the door and walked in, he closed the door behind him and he walked towards the wash room and prepared warm bath water and took a bath.
He got out and went to his room, nit the room he used to share with his brother, but his own room and closed the door behind him. He wasn't really that tired but he thought a little rest won't harm him anyways. He climbe6the bed and was about to get comfortable and close his eyes when he woke up like a possessed being with eyes shot out. He remembered the green spirit and he didn't know where it was in his body, what he didn't know was that the green spirit was back in the meditation room. It went out knowing that Lan Zhan was going to take a bath and didn't want to invade his privacy.
He walked around the house, arms wide spread to feel it's presence until he reached the meditation room and found it floating above his Bichen'. He walked inside and sat down behind the table and the green spirit went closer to him and hovered above his Zither', he watched how it was exited when it saw his Zither' and he smiled and played ask the spirit. They were now in the mortal realm and it was impossible to speak to it directly like he did in the spiritual realm, the day of the gifting ceremony was different since there had to there spirits around and they had to talk to him to clearify somethings.
He played and asked it "were you a cultivator in you mortal life? Why were you looking at my sword like that? Do you miss you life before you passed on?" Those were the questions Lan Zhan kept asking the spirit not even taking his time to hear the answer. He wanted to ask everything and wait for the answer afterwards. " Yes Master Lan, I was a cultivator. Unfortunately the Gods forbid me to tell you because of your request. When we crossed over from the spiritual realm to the mortal world you have forgotten what you know and will only remember certain conversations about you and your tasks together with your soul mate. So please do not ask who I am because I cannot say...抱歉 Bàoqiàn (* I'm sorry*) .
All I can tell you is that, that sword belonged to your great grandfather from your father's side. Your father gave it to you when you were little but was later taken away by the Gods to formally gift it to you at the ceremony. You are powerful indeed since this sword has been known to reject many, even your father–...let's leave that for next time shall we...? Now for your other question...no I do not miss my the life I have lived, but there are people I miss and even if I go back we woud still be apart. So to answer your question.. no I don't miss my mortal life."
Lan Zhan knew to not continue asking questions since he himself had secrets he didn't wish for others to know. And they were mostly about fantasizing about Wei Ying. He stoped asking the green spirit questions and played a soothing melody, the green spirit's soul seemed to be acting according to each string Lan Zhan played and brightened even more. It suddenly changed shape and Lan Zhan saw it turn from a solid green light to misty green light and it floated towards Lan Zhan's Zither'. It hovered for a few seconds until it was sucked in the Zither', Lan Zhan abruptly stopped paying and watched it as it faded into the Guqin' until it dissapeared inside. It became one with Wangji's spirit and the green was taken over by the blue which was Lan Zhan's core power and Wanji's spirit.
They became one and lived together in the Guqin', Lan Zhan knew many things but he didn't know if it was even possible to merge spirits or if Wanji would accept the green spirit. But in the end he finally realised that the day of his gifting ceremony, the green spirit came together with the Lan clan ancestor. He finally understood that it was part of him and even if he didn't know how, he still was grateful it came back to him. He felt almost whole as he remembered that there was one piece missing, his Wei Ying.
He missed him so much and he was so happy knowing he was going to meet him soon. He had waited for so long to be with him and he .ade a promise to be with him everyday when he came for his studies. He last saw Wei Ying when they were still young, he didn't know how Wei Ying now that he had grown up. In the must of his excitement, there was worry, worry of his Wei Ying will be, if he was as kind as Jiang Fengmian had written in his monthly letters or if he would have difficulties in persuading him to be on his side. He had indeed lost his memories, but what if he changed his preference of being with his soulmate whinwas a man or he now wanted to be with a woman. He got worried about that and he decided to wait till he finally sees him to see for himself.
