He grabbed him by the helm of his robes and pulled him along with him as he swam up to the surface. He managed to reach the surface and the last thing he remembered was a hand grabbing him and a weight on his other hand which was holding Lan Zhan lightened, before he passed out.

When Lan Xichen woke up he found himself covered in thick blankets and feeling too hot with sweat tracing his temple. His eyes stung as the brightness of the day stung his eyes and he looked around remembering what had happened. Lan Qiren came in with the maid whin rought him some food and and warm water to drink and also herbal medicine for headaches and fever. Lan Qiren was so happy to have his nephews back even although he was furious about the condition Lan Zhan was in. His lacerations and scratches were too deep and even though the healer said they would not leave a mark, there was also another factor they had to look out for, which was infections.

Lan Qiren together with Lan Xichen kept Lan Zhan's environment clean and spotless and they never allowed anyone in just for the sake of  contracting infections. A few weeks later Lan Zhan's wounds were showing signs of improvement, but...he was still not waking up. This was because Lan Zhan was already in the spirit realm and even though Lan Xichen knew the signs if when his brother was in the spiritual realm, he couldn't help himself but worry about his safety. Anything could happen there and he wondered if Lan Zhan was not sick, injured or even in his older self body.

Days went by and Lan Zhan was still sleeping but atleast he was out of danger and Lan Xichen never left his side, not even once. His uncle had told him to go to classes but he refused and said that his brother was more important than his studies. To him, nothing really mattered and seeing Lan Zhan's health getting better and his scars almost healed made him so relieved. When Lan Zhan woke up six months later, Lan Xichen felt like he was the luckiest person of all to have had his brother brought back to him with his injuries healing at super speed. Of course everyone was amazed by his fast healing but he knew why...his brother was no ordinary little child. He claimed that the reason for his fast healing was because of healing and calming music, sure enough... everyone believed him. Actually,he had no choice, either expose his brother for who he really was or twist a lie.

END OF FLASHBACK

Lan Zhan understood why his brother said what he said and the reason for his scolding. He also hated to see his brother worry about him like that. " Wanji...I think you should learn some healing and calming music...for yourself and also for Wei Ying. I have a feeling that he will need it in the future" Lan Xichen chuckled, he already saw how Wei Ying's temper was and it would be no suprise if it gets worse in the future even though he hoped it doesn't, he knew Wei Ying's temper and his brother's temper clash with each other. Lan Zhan was calm and doesn't like to speak but gets things done, Wei Ying's happy all the time kind if attitude and his bright and charming smiles we enough to make anyone loose themselves. But there was a catch behind that smile and that was the Wei Ying's fave when he was angry, it looked like there was something inside of him that always seemed to threaten to take control of Wei Ying when he was angry.

Lan Zhan agreed and told his brother that he would come later by the house, after he finished reading his books. Lan Xichen chuckled as he was thinking about the good old days when that his mother would force Lan Zhan to stop reading and eat his food. Lan Zhan would say nothing but showed displeasement. He would only stare at the wall if his mother would emtry to coax him but nothing would work until Lan Zhan would stop reading and to eat his food. Luckily for Lan Zhan, he had read all four books and now he wanted to read the last one. It was an old book with no name or author's name and he found it strange. That didn't stop him from reading it though, because the moment he opened it he already felt different and he was surprised as to why.

When he read the first three words he knew realised that the book was strange, the book was written by the ink that was used a long time ago and was done using a feather. He wondered whose book it was but when he turned to its back he saw the writings (* to my grandaughter Xiao Furen, to give to his son.*)  It was written at the too and there was a personal message at the back that said
'Furen...I hope you marry someone who trully deserves you and have wonderful children together, never be afraid to take in a challenge and always follow our teachings. In this book...there are demonstrations of everything needed for a cultivator's core to reach it's high capacity and to strengthen ones core. The discriptions on how to utelize the spiritual energy for the benefit own benefit and that of others. I hope you become who you want to be and always stay happy and free.

Baoshan Sanren.
Cheng Chang.

At first Lan Zhan thought he had read the name wrong and he read them again and again. But he didn't make any mistake, the names were of his great  grandfather and...and....elder Baoshan Sanren! That was shocking to him. He had heard that on the day he was delivered, his mother had already been in labor for three whole days and nights and that healers from every calm were called to help out but no one seemed to know what was wrong or how to help her. He heard that an elder came along with her female desciple and they helped relieve his mother of the pain she had been feeling for so long and he was delivered with the help of those two.

And now here he was, reading the name of that same elder and it seemed like they were friends back then and even cultivated together. He tried to remember every detail he had heard but that was all. He remembered that his uncle had never mentioned the name of the elder's desciple and even though it had been thirteen years ago, he hoped that she would still be alive and tell him exactly what had happened in that fateful day. He knew if he found out the truth then he would find a way to help Wei Ying and that she must know why he was given Wei Ying's power core to keep for him and not give it to him when he was born. Now he was set out to find her, no matter what...he had to find her. He was determined..so in the meantime he started reading the book and it was indeed useful with some tricks of using talismans and other ways of preventing the spread of the evil spirit throughout ones body and to use both energies to ease the transition of ones temperament of those possessed by the evil spirits or resentment energy.
