The rumbles were getting closer and closer till the cold wind navigated through the trees passing through, he took out his torn robes he had been carrying with him all this time. The robes which Lan Zhan had neatly packed for him that morning. He smelled them and his mind went hazzy with the sandlewood scent because Lan Zhan packed it after taking a bath with sandlewood scented soap. He closed his eyes taking in the scent and when he opened them again he gasped and said " Lan Zhan! " He saw Lan Zhan sitting next to him on the tree branch, smiling at him and he  leaned closer to hug him while calling out his name " Lan Zhan!! I missed you so much, don't go away and leave me. I want to tell you something Lan Zhan.. I like you...I really like you a lot.."  Wei Ying cried as the rain started to fall and washed away his tears.

He cried like that shouting his pain out for the first time after the departure of his parents, loosing them as indeed took a part of his heart out and then lived in the streets since the young desciple never came back to look for him since the day he left with those that killed his parents. He had thought that no one would want him but fate had its magic up its sleeves. He met Lan Zhan, when he had already lost hope of finding someone who would care for him he found his Lan Zhan, and somehow at that moment he felt relived that there still were people with a good hearts who cared for him.

She he was dirty and damaged and treated like a rag, he was found and cared for by Lan Zhan and Lan Xichen. He was relieved that Lan Zhan even took it too far as to love him in a way that he did even after hurting him because did his doubts but he never stopped loving him or even show him a bad side in the very stated he was in. He cared deeply for him that he even doubted his existence. He thought a love like that and a care like that was only given by parents, family and the Gods but when it happened at the time he had no one by strangers even, he had found his hope in again to keep on living a better life so that he would someday thank those who picked a dirty, smelly rag like himself. He remembered Lan Xichen's smile which felt like home and always brought happiness in his heart and mind and the words spoken by him showed him guidance and direction in life.

The sandlewood scent on his robes which he was holding and covering himself from the  rain was washed away by the heavy rains and he opened his eyes only to find himself hugging nothingness. He looked around in panick for Lan Zhan, trying to find where he had dissapeared to. When he finally realised that he was just hallucinating and Lan Zhan wasn't really there,  no matter how real it felt or how strong the scent was...it was just his mind missing a very big part of his life. He remembered Lan Xichen's words before he left  " It's not about hoping to see me again, but your heart will bring you to us soon." He didn't believe that he would miss his heart so soon, he had thought it would miss its Lan Zhan when he was atleast older.

He felt disappointed but mostly hurt and broken as his heart missed its owner and master more than his mind. Indeed the soulmate was more powerful than the mind, the heart had more power than the mind and no matter what he had done to keep himself busy his heart would always ache as a reminder of longing to be closer to the one it holds dear.He cried until he cried himself to sleep, sleeping in the tree  ranch for the remainder of the night. He was woken up by the sun shining through the tree branches poking him out of his sleep to welcome him into another day. He opened his eyes and he saw that the sun was already high he was still wet form the rain and he didn't know when it stopped since he fell asleep while it still rained.

He stretched himself and climbed off the tree and straightened his back before continuing on his journey. He heard the sounds of crowds which sounded to be nearby and he hurriedly ran towards it and found that it was the inland port and people were getting off and on in their respective boats. He stood there admiring the scene of people going about, busy with their day to day schedules and he saw many carriages arrive at the inland port dropping people off to the boats and going back. He remembered that his father told him that Lotus Cove was beautiful with lots of lotus flowers and water surrounding the entire clan, and indeed the scene that was before him was the same. The parts he could see were built on water.

He saw many people with different robes and he remembered that the clan leaders meeting was held in Lotus Cove. He thought about Lan Zhan being long gone since there were many boats already in the lake waters floating further away from the wharf an he readied himself to meet the man his father took as a dear friend. He walked towards the wooden walkway over the lake was about to follow desciples who wore the robes he saw from the men who killed his parents and stopped for a second. He was reminded of his parents who he seemed to have forgotten when he was with Lan Zhan, he always thought about them but had seemed to forgot about them during the time he spent with Lan Zhan and Lan Xichen.

His tears threatened to fall as they burned his eyes but turned them back before they could even make their way on his bottom eyelids. He composed himself with his clothes still not dry yet and he walked a few metres before he heard someone familiar voices from people who just walked by him, he turned around and and he saw a two men walking slowly towards the inland port. He stood there frozen watching as the men pass by accompanied by other desciples, and he looked closely and saw one of them wearing the same robes Lan Qiren wore the day before and even though they were a little different he concluded that he must have wore new ones after freshening up that morning

He was still looking and still in his frozen state when until the men reached the inland port where a boat was already waiting for them. He looked closely and he saw a glimpse of a figure and he felt his body jolt and his temperature rise, he was unable to move with his eyes focused in the people who just passed him. He saw his the desciples walking around something he couldn't see what it was until all if them passed. And there....Lan Zhan was standing there looking towards his direction and it seemed like he had the same effect as he did until he saw a other figure shake him from his stupor. It was Lan Xichen bringing him out of his daze until he followed Lan Zhan's gaze and saw his standing there.

It looked like they were both trying to move towards each other but they were frozen to the ground like statues and only their eyes blinking. After Lan Xichen saw Wei Ying he waved his hand at him but he was unable to wave back. Lan Xichen saw that Wei Ying's state of being was the same as Lan Zhan's,and he tried to wake his brother up from his frozen gaze when he saw that there was a big carriage coming. If Wei Ying didn't move he would fall in the lake and worse, he will definitely get injured. He shook Lan Zhan again and again and when he saw that there was no effect he turned around and pointed at the direction Wei Ying was going to in panick and Wei Ying forced himself out of it.
