CHAPTER 36

He spent all his time with Wei Ying's mother, everyday eating and sleeping together in the cave.Lan Zhan ended up learning more than he should because of the spare time they had waiting for the go ahead from the Gods. His skills and knowledge had grown more than anyone could count, training until the Gods sent them a message to go back.

When Jiang Fengmian got back to Lotus Cove he immediately sent for a healer and he took him to a guest room since he didn't know if he will be staying there or not. The healer came and took care of him and told Jiang Fengmian that Wei Ying was just having a severe fever and that's all. He also warned that having a fever like that would result in him not being physically fit as be should for his age, he prescribed some herbs and went in his was leaving Jiang Fengmian with an unconscious Wei Ying. He looked at him and and sat down on the bed and took the robes which Wei Ying was holding into tightly and never letting it go and placed it under his pillow and tucked his hair back to his ear.

When he woke up he found himself in an unknown room with a young boy who was maybe a few years younger than him and a man who looked familiar to him. He tried to sit down and after stirring up for a few seconds, feeling his body and head ache. He felt like his hea would fall from his neck any minute from then and he held his hand to his forehead and massaged it a bit. The man caloser to him and helped him sit on the bed, he looked around and the man disturbed him by asking " Wei Ying... how do you feel? Here drink some water son, you have been sleeping for a while you must be thirsty."

Wei Ying was in daze for a second and forgot to blink and didn't even realise he was starring at that man. " Yes...I'm fine. Who are you?" " Oh I'm sorry... I am Jiang Fengmian, you father was a very good friend if mine and your mother and I also became good friends. This is my son, Jiang Cheng and I will introduce you to my elder daughter who is the one who had been taking care of you while you were aslee-..oh here she is...she is Jiang Yanli" Wei Ying was listening the whole time while his eyes went back and forth looking at the strangers infornt of him.

You really scares us when you fainted by the wooden pathway, if it wasn't for your friend Lan Zhan then we would have not seen you needed help. He and Lan Xichen seemed to be worried about you, I'll send a message to them and notify them that you've woken up." Jiang Fengmian was about to stand up when he heard Wei Ying ask " who is this Lan Zhan and Lan Xian Cheng? " " Lan Xichen, oh they saved you when you were at the pathway and Lan seemed to care and you very well. Are you sure you don't remember them?" Lan Zhan nod his head and he became confused. "Don't worry you will remember his very soon, you had a severe fever, I think that might be the reason for you memory loss, but I'm sure it's only temporary. I'd like to say.. welcome to our family and I hope you agree to stay here and let us take care if you, for my trusted friend...I will do anything.

Wei Ying was told that he would be staying in Lotus Cove and he was somewhat happy that he was now in a house and the relationship with Jiang Cheng was growing by the day and they learned together. Wei Ying became the best student in everything he did and because if that some students became jealous and he didn't know that danger was around him from the day he stepped foot in Lotus Cove. His every move was strictly being monitored and his actions were noted down the while time. When he was ten years old he learned archery and he excelled while Jiang Cheng was left behind by three levels being number four when Wei Ying topped it being number one I the whole Lotus Cove.

One afternoon while they were practicing archery, elders had come to monitor their progress and there was one person who came because of the praises he heard from other students and they wanted to see it for themselves. This was the lady of the house, Madam Yu, she was well known for being strict and somehow rude to the desciples. Nobody was to do anything about it and not even the clan leader because Madam Yu was Clan leader Jiang Fengmian's wife. They were scared to complain and they knew she liked to punish anyone who doesn't do things her way to a point of trying to control her husband, forcing him to do what she wanted when she wanted. All the elders knew what kind of person she was and the somehow disliked her and said she was disrespectful.

She was always seen with two women who their aura seemed odd and dangerous and she would sometimes give them permission to punish whomever she wanted to be punished. It really didn't matter if a desciple was seen resting after finishing their duties for the day but to her...if the day wasn't over then the work also was'nt. She found the elders watching the student while giving appraisal to those who did their best and all. Once the elders saw her they kept quiet and didn't praise the students anymore. But that was a bad decision they took because it was then Jiang Chen's turn, when he finished she waited for their praises for his son, but it never happened.

She stood up from her seat and asked while demanding " why aren't you throwing praises at your future calm leader? You old hags, if you don't throw praises at him like you did to that servant boy then you will pay for it!" She threatened and the elders became scared but didn't meet his demands. She got shouted at everyone around and told them that training was over after telling the elders that Wei Ying will no longer participate in the archery teaching class. Gasps were heard and she didn't care, her last statement was that the cooks should srop giving the elders food for the rest of the week. Jiang Fengmian was not around at that time since he had sent to Cloud Rescessess to see if Lan Zhan had gotten better after he heard that he was found at the bottom of the cold pond brutalized by a young member of their Lan clan.

He knew that his wife wasn't treating the members of his clan very well and that he was indifferences to Wei Ying but he didn't think of it as a threat to his well being. He was wrong because that evening she took things too far as to kick Wei Ying out if his bedroom and told him to sleep outside. The weather was luckily not cold and he enjoyed the evening breeze. He slept on a tree at the back of the Lotus Cove not very far from the lotus pond where he used to pick lotus seeds with his brother Jiang Cheng. No one knew of this spot only Wei Ying did because unfortunately that was not the first time he was told to sleep outside and Jiang Fengmian didn't have knowledge of those happenings.

I have a backpain that is giving me a hard time to concentrate and it's been almost a month now with ups and downs of pain and I hope I get better so that I could continue writing exiting chapters for you.
