CHAPTER 32

Lan Zhan successfully tapped in Wei Ying's spiritual energy and he felt that it was weak, too weak to tell which state he was in. In the end...this method was not helpful since he got disconnected and was blocked out.

He opened his eyes and gasped loudly, his forehead sweating as the cold sweat ran down his spine " Wanji! What happened, did you find him?" " Xiongzhang... I discovered that his spiritual energy was weak, he is sick xiongzhang...very sick and only my spiritual energy could heal him" Lan Zhan felt depressed and Lan Xichen suddenly sensed his spiritual energy weakening and rushed to him to feel his pulse. His pulse was unstable and it was bad but atleast not dangerous. If  it got chaotic the Lan Zhan's health would be in danger, Lan Xichen had to do something, his  Dìdì needed him and he was always ready tohelp him in whichever way he could.

" Wanji...if you become weak...won't that affect him? You must be stronger so that your energy could be stronger than it is right now. " Lan Zhan pulled himself together and promised himself that he was going to be more powerfull than he was so he would be able to protect him. He stood up and went to his drawers because be knew...one needs knowledge to maintain power. You can have power but you need knowledge to know how to use it for own benefit and or for the benefit of others. He took out some books and started reading and writing his work. The Gusu Lan scholars learned about different things, from conducting oneself to spiritual and evil energies. So that's where he started.

Days went by and days turned into weeks and months and Lan Zhan was excelling in his studies, he became the best student in the entire Gusu Lan Sect and everyone in and out of his clan heard about a young boy who did the best in everything he does. He was the best example made by many elders and parents to push their students and children to be like him. But with such great achievements...there was also great detestation from others, whether it was his fellow scholars or parents who couldn't handle their kids being below the great Gusu Lan adored little scholar.

Time went by and Lan Xichen became worried since the bullying which ended right after he came back from Yungmeng started again, but Lan Zhan didn't pay attention to all that, he had a mission a mission and he had promised himself to work hard for his soulmate and to never to give up no matter what. The more he worked hard for his goal the more brutal his bullies bacame and there was one who was the one to spread word to other scholars, he was the same scholar who was slightly older than Lan Zhan who had bullied him when he started his studies. He was hellbent on ruining Lan Zhan's life and to become the one who was favoured by all just like Lan Zhan.

He started like he did a few months ago when  Lan Zhan started school, he would ask Lan Zhan to be his friend and like always Lan Zhan would not respond and continued being busy with his studies and nit even sparing him a glance. His name was Su She, he described as handsome in an unspectacular way and he couldn't understand why everyone always praised Lan Zhan as being handsome, he thought of himself as more handsome than Lan Zhan but what he didn't understand was that Lan Zhan wasn't just handsome, he had was great at his studies that he would get a full 100% marks whereas Su She could only manage 49% . No matter how hard he tried he couldn't beat Lan Zhan.

Su She kept on with his bullying until one fatefull day, they had just finished thier studies for the day and their class was done for the day but not Lan Xichen's. Because it was too early and his brother would not go home until three hours later, he decided to walk home by himself. instead of going straight home to where he lived he decided to go to his parents house, The Jingshi. He was pacing his steps when Su She came from behind him and tripped him. He fell face first and that gave Su She an idea " what's so good about you huh...why is everyone praising you when I am even more handsome than you. You're just a freak and nothing more.

They are just sympathizing with you because you are abnormal and that's it, and your studies...huh(*scoff*)  don't think we don't know that your uncle writes your exams and gives you answers for the coming work. Did you think no one would realise that you're cheating all the time. You pretend to write without stopping when in reality you're just pretending to write because your uncle had already written everything. Well now let me tell you...I will scar your face so bad that no one would even want to look at you. No girl would want to be with you and you will spend the rest of your life alone hahahaha! "

Lan Zhan lying down after he feel and his forehead was bleeding so bad that he couldn't see what was right infront of him. His blood had gotten in his eyes and no matter how much he wiped off it still came out. He felt a stingy pain on his face when Su She started dragging his face on the dirt ground and the sand git into his eyes making his sight completely blocked. He tried to fight back but he couldn't because in truth Su She was older and taller than him not counting spiritual years. He didn't want to himself just because of a mere beating, he thought that Wei Ying had gone through worse. He concluded that the pain he was in at that moment was nothing compared to the pain Wei Ying felt when he was surrounded by dogs bitting and tearing his flesh from his body.

Then he gave in, he wanted the same pain Wei Ying felt when he was bitten, the same pain he felt when he tried to talk to him and he didn't, the same pain he felt when he nearly broke his meridians when he got angry for not being answered and felt like he was being belittled by him and the same pain see you d he felt when he was looking at him risking his cover and his life to save him from being crushed by the carriage. He wanted it all and he got worse than that.
