Wei Ying got to the dormitiry and he saw that no one was outside, so he went inside the house and found that both his shijie and his shidi were in their bedrooms. He knew his shijie would worry if she didn't see him come back so she knocked on her door, and surely Jiang Yanli wasn't sleeping. He went in after getting permission and she was relieved to see he was alright, she didn't know where he had gone and even though she let him go wherever he wanted to go, she still couldn't stop wondering if he was ok or not.

He got in and crouched beside her bed and she took his hands with a warm smile. "A-Xian...you're back? I was so worried about you, I'm glad you're back." She smiled at him and he did the same " I'm sorry shijie I made you worried, but I'm fine now. " He thought of the moment he spent with Lan Zhan and smiled while looking at absolutely nothing and his shijie noticed. " A-Xian...are you alright?" " Ha-ha yes I'm fine,  more than fine" he smiled beautifully at her and she had to ask " A-Xian, where did you go?"

Instead of answering her question he asked "shijie...his do you know if you love someone?" He had his eyes bulged out waiting for her to answer. She chuckled a little and asked " has my little A-Xian fallen in love? Why would you ask that question?"  He got nervous " oh shijie forget about it, ha-ha...I was just blurting out nonsense. But Jiang Yanli saw that he meant the question, she saw the state he was in when he left, and the state he was in at that moment and she could tell there was a huge difference.

" Ha-ha-ha...my A-Xian has grown up, A-Xian... actually...when you're inlove you keep thinking about that person, you want to spend every minute with them and if you see them with other people...you get jealous and you don't like it. You want to do things for them even when they know how to do it themselves, you comfort them when they are down because you feel pain when they are in pain. You want to protect them with your own life if it comes to that and, you feel like you cannot live without them. So... A-Xian, which of these are you feeling now? Hhmm?"

Wei Ying looked sad and he felt his tears burn his cheeks and he knew that's how he felt from the moment he found himself in Lan Zhan's arms two hours ago. He didn't know how to explain it to his shijie, so he just let it be " shijie...我饿了 Wǒ èle (* hungry*) " he knew he didn't have the answer to her question yet, so he just changed the topic before he got too emotional. He knew he felt that his feeling were deeper than what he had first thought they were, and he didn't understand if Lan Zhan saw him as a friend or if they shared the same feelings for each other. Like I said...Lan Zhan's feeling were way more than what Wei Ying thought they were. His shijies stood up an left the room.

Wei Ying followed and and when Jiang Yanli opened the door, he saw his brother outside, it was clear he was listening to their conversation but he was too embarrassed to admit that. " Jiang Cheng...who taught you to earsdrop on other people's conversations? Aren't you ashamed of yourself?" " Wei Wuxian! Who was earsdroping ? Are you so full of yourself?" " Who? Me? How can I when I'm not the one who got busted listening to other people's conversations..." " Alright you two, you've started again (chuckles) let's go have something to eat." They followed her to the kitchen while they bumped into each other's shoulders, provoking each other.

After eating their favourite soup they went to sleep and Jiang Yanli bid them good night and got into her room. Wei Ying also bid Jiang Cheng a good night looking at him and he went to his room, he was very tired. Wei Ying was too friendly with Jiang Cheng so that he would stop 'liking' him. But did that work? Well... we'll find out when time comes. Wei Ying was about to close his door when jiang Cheng blocked it with his shoe, Wei Ying peeked at the door and Jiang Cheng opened it making Wei Ying move back a little donhe could come in. Wei Ying went to prepare bath water while casually asking " Jiang Cheng...do you need something?"

" Wei Wuxian...why are you avoiding me? Ever since we got here you've been acting strange"  " strange? What do you mean I act strange? I thought that's the way I am" he didn't even look up at him, he sounded exhausted, and that he was. He had cried so much and he had never cried like that in a long time in not ever. " I know it's because of that Lan Wangji, it s because of him right?"
Wei Ying looked at him while holding a bath towel and he looked surprised " Jiang Cheng, does it bother you that I'm friends with Lan Zhan?"

" Friends? Huh! (Scoff) you think he's your friend? Well then I think you're dreaming while walking, his could he be friend s with someone like you? Do you even know who he is? Do you think his status and yours are equal? Friends...friends my ass." " Jiang Cheng...you know I'm older than you, why do you have to use such language with me? What is wrong in finding someone you could call a friend? "  " Older than me? Wei Wuxian...who the hell do you think you are? Huh? You are not my senior and you will never be. You think you found a friend? Did you ask him if he wanted to be friends with you? Cause I know the answer will be NO! Your levels a far from each other. I admit that his level is far more than mine but you're beneath me in everything except skills.

Lan Wangji would choose someine like me to be friends with, not someone like you, your like a dirty rag to him and nothing else. I bet he cringes when you're next to him and he just can't wait to walk away from you." After finishing his mockery he left, leaving Wei Ying standing there as he held himself not to cry. But the words Jiang Cheng had said to him then we're the most painful. He has thought he was training so hard to be someone in the eyes of madam Yu, to be better in Jiang Fengmian's eyes. But now what Jiang Cheng had said made him loose all his constraints, he cried silently so he doesn't wake his shijie while going to the washroom to take a bath.
