By the time Lan Zhan had finished reading the book it was already night time and almost time for supper. He walked out of the house, locked it and went to his uncle's house where he was staying. He knew his uncle was already home and does t approve of him come  home late, I guess they didn't want another incident to happen to him. He reached home and knocked on the door first and waiting for approval to come in before going in an locking the door behind him.

Lan Qiren was in the tea room and he saw that his brother was the one who was in the hallway waiting for him to come bome. Lan Xichen smiled at the relief of seeing his Dìdì back home in one piece, he knew his uncle didn't like it and he was prepared to stand by his Wanji if their uncle were to scold him or punish him. Lan Zhan nodded at his brother and Lan Xichen returned it before they both went to greet their uncle. Lan Xichen was already there and when he came came from the Jingshi he found his uncle already home, he had already told him where Lan Zhan was and they were both waiting for him before they had their dinner.

Lan Zhan stood by the door if the tea room and greeted his uncle who was at this time sipping in his tea without any care in the world. He looked up and smiled before gesturing both his nephews to come inside. They went in and sat on their respective chairs by the table, Lan Xichen poured some tea for Lan Zhan and himself before Lan Qiren spoke. " Wanji...I can see you're doing great in your studies now and you're even getting better at it, so since you like that Guqin' then how about you learn to practice with it. You will soon be if age to be given your spiritu swords by the choice of the Lan ancestors and it would be better if you learn to use it now...who knows...they might grant you your own Guqin' as a spiritual tool. So...what do you think?"

Lan Zhan looked at his uncle with glistening eyes and gave a short answer "Mmn" while nodding twice. It was the only thing he wished to learn more than anything and when his uncle suggested he use his own...he was mind blown. Lan Qiren's Guqin' belonged to his father and he had already stopped using it since he was busy with the clan duties. Even so...he could not have given Lan Zhan his own gifted Guqin'or anything spiritual since spiritual  swords and spiritual tools were given according to ones golden core, the flow of the spiritual energy in one's body and their temperament and lastly...their family lineage.

This meant that all the Lan ancestors would gift a spiritual weapon(s) to an a specific individual according to their temperament and the additional spiritual tool can be given by their ancestors according to their lineage. It didn't matter if one had been gifted three spiritual tools, and it didn't matter what tool it was. It also didn't matter if one knew how to use it before they were gifted, because those tools had their own spiritual energies and when they come in contact with their masters, (those who were gifted to them) they merge their spiritual energies becoming one, with body, mind and spirit.

All those who are of rightful age had recieved their spiritual tools during the gifting ceremony, some were given one tool while others were given two. Never three but only two because of the level of their core powers. So...Lan Zhan didn't care if he would be gifted or not, he liked learning and he was good at it, so...whether he was gifted a Guqin'or not he was still going to keep playing it since he liked it so much. Lan Xichen saw the sparkles behind his brother's eyes and he knew he was very happy about it. Lan Zhan stood up and bowed to his uncle, to thank him properly for allowing him to play his own spiritual power. Trust was needed to be able to do that, he had watched Lan Zhan pluck the strings he first came to his house.

He saw how Lan Zhan was able to play the strings and he watched in amazement together with his brother Qingheng-Jun when he came to request Lan Qiren to bring the boys to see him and their mother before their departure. They both saw it and even though they didn't say anything regarding it to each other, they both knew it was amazing. Here...let me explain why...it was impossible for one to use the other's gifted tool, it didn't .after if it was a sword, a fighting tool or even a musical instrument. If it was gifted to the other then it would not allow the other person to use it. Remember that that the spiritual tools connected their spiritual energies with its owners and it would not respond to someone else using it.

All in all...Lan Zhan had managed to play Lan Qiren's spiritual tool and even strung a few strings which was impossible to do, the string would've been too stiff to bounce and it didn't matter if he was a child or a grown up, it was impossible to use someone else's spiritual tool
Now at that moment, Lan Xichen also stood up and also bowed to his uncle to thank him for allowing his Wanji to do what he loves. Lan Qiren gestured them to sit down and eat before the food got cold. They ate peacefully and silently until they finished, Lan Zhan had a request after their meals and he knew that he was either going to be denied or scolded and denied, but he had to try atleast. He said..

" Uncle...can I please have permission to play your Guqin' in the Jingsh? We looked straight at his uncle's eyes and anticipated for the answer he was going to get. He had prepared himself to getting harsh words and scolding or both, but he never expected to hear the answer " it's alright Wanji...you can take it, but after you're done learning all the musical scores then you must return it where you found it...ok?" Both Lan Zhan and Lan Xichen were in shock and it was very visible in their faces, they liked at Lan Qiren as if he was infested with a deadly disease and he even noticed that and he asked " Xichen....Wanji...why are you both looking at me like that?" His tone of words was very serious with a hint of confusion in it and the Lan boys looked at each other and then away from each other when Lan Xichen said ..

Uncle it's nothing hah-hahaha-ha (*nervous chuckle*)  but uncle...are you okay? ".  "What do you mean Xichen?". " I think maybe you must be exhausted form the days work, I hope you won't change your mind tomorrow after realising what you have just said." " Xichen..why would I? I had already decided to lend my Guqin' to him a few years ago, but there was something always disturbing me and I would end up forgetting it. So ...Wanji...I hope you can take care of it for me to. " Lan Zhan nodded and he excused himself and went to the meditation room.

He needed to since he had read so much from his great grandfather and Baoshan Sanren's book of cultivation. His mind was swirling with knowledge while his spiritual energy processed it to its power. This was to make it easy to recognise when he had grown and started cultivation. After putting away the food tray and bowls, Lan Xichen joined Lan Zhan and they both went deep into meditation in less that a few seconds and Lan Qiren couldn't be so proud. It took a lot of time, practice and hardwork to reach that stage of meditation, and his nephews did it like it was nothing...he was so happy about that.
