" I have always thought that you would bring trouble to me and it turns out you did. I don't want to hear anything from you right now, let's go! You will explain yourself infront of the elders "

Elder Su pulled Su She by the arm and took him to the meeting hall after telling one of the desciples to call all the elders to come there. He threw Su She to the ground to kneel and he paced back and forth behind him waiting for the elders to arrive. I took them a little over five minutes to get there and when they all arrived together, a total of seven elders together with Lan Qiren came in and sat down looking at the panicked elder Su and they could see that whatever it was, it had to be serious. They looked at each other and back at the pacing elder who now had cold sweat tracing his forehead and he spoke.

" Elders...I really am sorry about this, I don't know what happened but I hope my nephew here can tell us. It's really the Gods work that I came home early today or else I would have not seen what I have." Elder Su went over to Su She and turned him around facing the elders and they all gasped and unheard words were said by them as they were shocked by what they saw. At first glance they saw blood and they didn't look carefully because of their actions were understandable since even the killing of animals welas prohibited, but after a closer look, their shock turned into horror and a few stood up and exclamations filled the meeting hall after realising it was human blood. Then all if them stood up.

"Lao Su...what is the meaning of all this, what has your nephew done this time...?" Lan Qiren asked elder Su with his eyes bulging out and trembling lips. The Lan family had the responsibility of making sure elder Su's health was well and he was well looked after, they provided everything fir him since he had been hurt trying to stop the resentment spirit  from obtaining its power core and thus putting his life on the line to save other clan members. Lan Qingheng-Jun was the one to set that order and he even used to go check up in him and guard his house to protect him from the resentment energy.

The offense of killing an animal was severe punishment and that if a fellow human being was more severe just like back then when Lan Furen killed her husband's mentor which led to Lan Qiren using the desciples whip out of anger. But no matter what age one was, punishment was the same. That was done to prevent others from doing the same mistakes in the future. So they still had no idea what the blood in Su She's hands came from and that was to be known to establish punishment. That was the reason why the Lan clan rules were constantly added by new ones. Elder Su looked at Su She who was now crying in fear of what was going to happen to him if they were to find out.

"Su She! Tell us what you have done, whose blood is that?" Elder Su asked and Su She's lips trembled and his body became numb as all eyes were in him, he knew there was no way out of it because either way he was going to be punished. " It-..it..is h-hum-an bl-blood.." " WHAT!" the elders said in unison.  They couldn't believe what they were hearing and even though they had already known this, him confirming it shook them to the core. The amount of blood on his hands was a lot and whoever it belonged to might not be alive.
" Whose blood" one of the elders asked " it..it..it..."  " Shuōhuà!! ( Speak!!)" Su She began crying, he was terrified and right at that exact time he began to see that what he had done was a grivious act and remembered each detail as he explained it to the elders.

The shock in their eyes was more than enough to let him know that he was in deep trouble. He told them detail in detail but he left one thing out, who that person was.
" Who is it?" Elder Su asked. "It's L..Lan W-..Lan Wanji" " SHÉNME!!! (WHAT!!!) " panick, shock, fear and indescribable emotions errupted from all of them and Lan Qiren staggered when one of the elders caught him. " Wanji...Wanji...Bù (No)...it cannot be..No." Lan Qiren ran out of the meeting hall unable to fathom what Su She had just said. The elders followed after calling out the desciples to accompany them to the cold pond, Lan Qiren was already halfway there when they left.

After being submerged into the cold water if the cold pond Lan Zhan had completely lost consciousness and the cuts in his face stung as a result of the cold water he was in. The cuts were deep and indeed Su She had made sure that he would be less handsome than he was, his leg had been broken and his fibula had completely broken into two while his tibia sustained cracks in to his knee. At this point it was difficult or almost impossible to walk again with those injuries. The air in his lungs was constantly running out and even if it was in a slower rate since he was unconscious but the results were the same.

The bottom of the pond was too deep and too cold for any mortal to be in, those who went in were allowed only to only submerge up to their shoulders but only for a few minutes at a time. It was cold enough to freeze anything that touches it but it wasn't frozen and that was one of  Lan ancestors secrets to keep it liquified and never to freeze. The coldness indeed had qualities to heal wounds faster depending on the level of one's cultivation and endurance, and that was why those with low level of cultivation had to be supervised by the elders. Apart from that, not anyone was allowed to go in regardless of their level of cultivation, it was for the clan leader and his family only but an exception was made for others as times went by.

After more than twenty minutes in the cold waters, Lan Zhan started convulsing as the water had already reached in his nostrils, he wasn't conscious yet but the air in his lungs had run out and the more he tried to breathe the more he swallowed the cold water filling his stomach and his lungs. A few seconds later he stopped convulsing, his body became paler than it already was and finally succumbed to his fate and drowned. His insides became hardened as his internal organs froze, the cultivators would not freeze their internal organs because of their level of cultivation but that was not the case when it came to children and that was why children were never allowed to step foot in the area where it was. Lan Zhan's lifeless body remained beneath the the cold waters, in the darkest and deepest part of the pond.
