Lan Xichen slowly walked over towards the tree, holding his breath in, scared for the worst. When he reached the tree, he saw that it was indeed his Dìdì, but something was wrong. He was shaking and it seemed like his whole body was reacting to something which was not seen by him. He squatted down and looked carefully at Lan Zhan who had tears on his eyes, he could see clearly that Lan Zhan was reacting to something but whatever it was, was not something that was in the mortal world. He didn't know what to do, he didn't want to call him out from wherever he was because he didn't know what would happen if he did. So he did what he knew how to do best, play his Liebieng for his brother.
He played it to calm him down and then he when he saw he was calm and not crying anymore he played the healing melody for him. It was a good melody which always healed the mind and the spirit, Lan Zhan heard the melodies from the spirit realm, and he became calm and opened his eyes in the cave. He was still alone and he walked out of the cave, but when he reached the cave entrance he heard a ruffle coming from inside the cave, he turned around and his eyes searched everywhere find the source of the noise he had heard, but he couldn't see anything. He walked back inside the cave.
He stood at the centre of the big cave and closed his eyes, at first, his spiritual ears could hear but his spiritual eyes could not see. When he closed his eyes he felt that there was a presence right infront of him, was not physical but he felt it was some kind of power. The power felt like nothing he had felt before, it was the pure higher power that was too greater than his own. He still kept his eyes closed, he felt that it was not evil but rather pure, too pure for any spirit he had ever came across. His power core lit up and his golden core ran his power slowly to his spirit, he wasn't doing it himself, but something was.
The pure power infront of him controlled his power core to the extent that it lit up, making his entire body to turn a glowing blue from his power core. His energy was subtle and his ears perked up, then he heard a voice. The voice was not deep nor soft, but it was comforting. Too comforting than his Wangji' or his brother's Liebieng', he felt an urge to kneel and as he did the voice spoke "why do you care about her spirit when she herself had made the mistake of not returning to take the path she was meant to take? She had made her decision and yet here you are bearing the consequences of her choices. What is it that you want to be done " Lan Zhan bowed his head and answered
" I know she had made her decision, she knew what would happen if she were to take the path she did. But it was her choice to do so for her own reasons that I have recently found out. She held no bad intentions and she did do all her assigned tasks the way she had been instructed to. But I ask ...why wasn't she given her desired path rather than the one which was for everyone who wished to go back to the mortal world? Why do her soul perish even thought she did everything right? No soul is to perish beyond existence like that. She deserved what she desired...did she not?"
Lan Zhan's breath hitched as he heard himself question the great power infornt of him. He...was... questioning the God of creation, one of the Gods in the heavenly realm. He bacame so nervous about what he had said, but he had to make a request in her behalf. He thought that his words felt like he was disrespectful toward the God of creation.
" Lan Wangji! You are very stubborn, do you want to change the nature of the world and create alternate routes of life? Do you realise the questions you have just asked? If spirits were to choose other paths than to be reincarnated what would happen then? The balance of every realm would be thrown off, especially if their request was something that goes against our laws the realm laws."
" I know that I am wrong to say why I have said, but I have one request which will not affect the realms in any way. All I ask is for green spirit to be returned, but not here it to the mortal realm. Please return her spirit to me to take care of, in that way she would never perish and she will also what she had asked for and that's all I ask." Lan Zhan finished and for a second or so, it became quite in the cave, he didn't open his eyes bacause he still felt the power. He waited for an answer ever so patiently and finally he got a response..
"I will grant you your wish, but first you have to give back the same amount as I have given. " Lan Zhan suddenly became terrified of what will be taken away from.
" Wei Ying was starting to regain his memories of you in dreams, he was finally begging to remember you. With that being said...I will take away his memories of you and you will be a stranger to him. Do you agree to that?" " Yes...I do agree to it." Lan Zhan didn't know that Wei Ying was starting to remember him, he got exited and then sad again. Wei Ying had already lost his memories of him a few years ago. He was planning on making him remember all of it himself. This didn't change his intentions.
