"Lili is going to go take a nap, she's not feeling well." Nick says, walking me past his parents and brother."Nicholas, when you're done tucking in your girlfriend come back down here, I want to have a talk with you." Says his dad.
We get up stairs and I crawl into his bed, he pulls the blanket up around me and gently kisses me.
"I'll make sure they're gone before you wake up." He smiles.
"What do you think your dad wants to talk to you about?" I ask.
"I don't know." He shrugs. "Probably football shit, don't worry about it." He kisses me again and leaves me to fall asleep.

When I wake up, I notice Nick was sleeping beside me. I grab my phone and check the time, it was 12pm. I fell asleep for like, five hours. I was really thirsty and didn't want to wake up Nick so, I make my way down to the kitchen for a glass of water.
As I'm turning the corner I notice Joey standing there eating, but I didn't expect to see him so he startled me. I jump nervously, back.
He looks at me concerned.
"Sorry." I breath. "You scared me, I didn't think anyone was here." I tell him.
"Oh, Jeesh. Good, I thought it was my face for a second." He jokes. "You hungry?"
"No, I'm just thirsty."
He reaches into the cupboard and grabs me a glass and hands it to me. "Thanks." I reply, going to the fridge.
"Are you okay, you looked like you were crying earlier?" He asks.
"Yeah, kinda." I sigh.
"You know what fixes everything?" He says.
"What?"
"Ice cream." He smiles.
I laugh. "I told you I wasn't hungry, though."
"Oh, come on. Don't give me that bullshit, everyone is hungry for ice cream." He says, tossing his plate into the sink. "I know this little spot really close, it's right on the beach. We can ride bikes to go get some. Also, bikes are cool too because they give you endorphins. You can't ride a bike and not smile."
"I don't know, Joey. Nick is sleeping." I tell him.
"That's good, he doesn't like ice cream anyway, he's to healthy for it. Come on, let's go." He says, walking toward the garage.
I hesitatingly, follow him.
He pulls out two cruiser bikes and gives me one by the handles. "Here, you can ride this one. You know how to ride a bike, right?" He asks.
I laugh. "Yes, I know how to ride a bike."
"Okay, good." He chuckles.
He opens the garage door and we start to pedal down the driveway and onto the street. I follow behind him, wind in my hair. He was right, something about riding a bike was just wholesome fun and it did make me smile. He turns to look at me behind him.
