I watch as he is walked off the field. The medical team holds his arm steady as they walk him down the players tunnel and out of sight.

Thankfully, he seemed to be okay. At least, for the most part, but typically when a player is walked back to the main locker rooms, they are injured.

I sit back down on the bench and try to keep myself from over-thinking. There was only two minutes left in the game, and then afterwards I could go check on him.

49ers win 38-13.

After the game.

Afterwards I head straight to the medical locker room. Entering I can see Nick laid back on the stretcher, I knew that wasn't a good sign.

"Is he going in?" I ask the doctor.

"Yeah, he's got a dislocated shoulder." The doctor replies.

"Can't you just pop it back in right here?" I question.

"We obviously tried that, it's not going back in."

I look over at Nick, but don't approach him. Believe me, I wanted to more than anything, but I didn't want to look like I was favoring him over other players.

"Is he going to need surgery?"

The doctor shrugs. "Possibly, but maybe not."

"Liliana?" Nick says, turning his head.

"What's up, Bosa?" I now walk over to him. "How you feeling?" I smile down at him. His eyes were super glossy, and he had a big grin on his face. I instantly, knew he was higher than a fucking kite.

"I feel amazing, now that you are here." He slightly, slurs his words and smiles bigger.

"Oh, I can see that." I laugh.

"I love you so much, Liliana." He says, reaching out to me.

I quickly take his hand and place it back at his side. "—Uhhh..." I look at the doctor and continue to laugh. "Alright, buddy." I pat his chest. "They gave you the good stuff, didn't they?" I try to act like he was just out of his mind high which, he clearly was. So, it wasn't uncommon for people to act this way on a lot of pain medication.

"We're going to get you going soon." The doctor says, to Nick. He then looks at me and chuckles.

"Can she come?" Nick replies, pointing to me.

The doctor directs his hand back down. "It's best to stay still. Your family is almost here." He looks at me and smiles while shaking his head. "He's taken a liking to you, huh?"

I laugh. "I guess so."

"Liliana, please don't leave me." He says, while his facial expression changed from happy to intensely, sad.

"It's okay, Bosa. You're family is about to be here." I tell him.

"Don't call me that." He replies, furrowing his eyebrows.

Just then, his entire family comes into the room and I'm instantly smaller than before. Seeing Nicks dad made me physically sick and seeing Joey, oh my god.. seeing Joey was an unimaginable pain.
